I changed tvbj2.com to tvbj2.net since it contains less ads. I also updated the direct links list with the J2 channel.

Phantoman, do you happen to have the link for TVB HD from the j2.net?

Yes I do, but it does not work even on tvbj2.net. So I decided not to share it.

Waw, long time no see boy7404. I have added your link to the main post. For me it keeps buffering though. The TVB's myTV stream never worked smoothly for me, probably because I am located too far away from the source.

    Thinks for your info.
In fact you don't need the Octoshape.
Those who are familiar with flash and js can hack the direct link from this page, and also from mytv.com.

I'm not too familiar, but I guess it would still keep buffering for me even if I had the direct link. Anyway, you gave me an interesting challange ... to find the direct link :)

I updated the direct links for tvbj2 again.

As for the myTV direct link, the most I was able to come up with was:

    http://img.tvb.com/tv/flash/tv_play.../stream.tvb.com/freelives&vid_file=hdjade_650

You need to open it in your browser and you still need Octoshape though. Otherwise the only other method that I found was to use rtmpdump, but I'll skip that since these streams are unwatchable for me anyway. My research also came up with the link to TVB News:

    http://img.tvb.com/tv/flash/tv_play...s&nielson_cg=newsliveinews&category_path=news

So if you are lucky enough to be able to watch these streams smoothly, then enjoy.

you r awesome. what you found is very close to mine(I'm not familiar too). At rush-hours it does buffer a lot. its bitrate is about 800 to 900 kb/s. i am trying to find the link, if there is, that streams through octoshape. hope you also have a try.

*argh* some people are not easily pleased! :) Not sure I will have the time, but Google on "rtmpdump" and educate yourself on how to get the link and stream via VLC player. I'll give it a try if I find some time.

oh me? I am a newbie to streaming. I'm sorry for my ignorance, hopefully you won't take it personal. I was just trying to report what I had experienced. I downladed the VLC player but had no success. What I did was just clicked the link you provided and the Window explorer was opened; however, it keep asking me to install the Octoshape software even I have installed it. Would you shed some light on this please? Thanks in advance!-sweat

No, I was talking to ccbig.

And yes, it will keep asking you to install Octoshape, but just click on the button with the 2 Chinese characters (which I guess is NO) and it will start streaming.

It's not because I'm not easily pleased, but because a direct link will die shortly after it is widespread on net. Yet p2p link will survive for longer time.

    Well...

It's asking for you to download it for better quality (which, of course isn't true). You can but don't need to.

Is there any sites where I could watch HK drama via streaming?

    Hope it's ok to ask

Ok, found a new method which I have not seen before.

    1.) Download PPStream here: http://download.ppstream.com/ppstreamsetup.exe
2.) Go to http://pps.lilomag.com/ and watch your series :)

Edit: I believe that the VOD from TVPad is also using PPStream.
