The 2012 Miss Hong Kong Pageant first round of interviews occurred on Monday, May 14th. As this year stands out as the 40th anniversary of the Miss Hong Kong Pageant, TVB revealed that the participants will travel to London for a special filming piece! The Miss Hong Kong Pageant will start on August 26, 2012. TVB’s Director of Production, Sandy Yu (???), announced that there was a 10% rise in applications collected for this year’s Miss Hong Kong Pageant. Though 200 applications were received, only 135 candidates were able to meet with the selection committee. A billiards of 40 prospects will be chosen after an interview session in which they will appear in swimsuits. From the overseas pool of applicants, 10 women will be selected. Finally, the total number of candidates will be reduced to 12 women who will compete in the 2012 Miss Hong Kong Pageant. Among the group of 135 women present at the preliminary interview for the 2012 Miss Hong Kong Pageant, there were not many beauties that caught the eye. Many candidates were not that tall, with one applicant only 5 feet 2 inches tall! One applicant even unveiled a large tattoo on her back! Most contestants decided to wear white dresses, eager to present their elegant and modest side. The few contestants who caught the media’s attention included dimpled 25-year-old, Cindy (pictured in left photo), who was similar to Taiwanese actress, Annie Liu, (???). Joyce (pictured in above right photo) was thought of as a Kathy Chow (???) look-a-like and seemed to have a "cool" attitude. Coming from Wuhan, 19-year-old Serena (above left) resembled Ron Ng’s (???) girlfriend, Viann Zhang (???). Serena’s appearance seemed to have gone through some plastic surgery. 22-year-old Wing (above right) was a professional model for 3 years before entering, she is fairly tall and possessed an effortless confidence in her demeanor. Another initial favorite with the press is Gloria (above left), who has a sweet and innocent look which was quickly talked about. Christy (above right) resembled Taiwanese actress, Michelle Chen (???), her dress was criticized because it looked like a nightgown. Both Gloria and Christy seemed to be really shy in front of the media. Creds: ihtv/Ming Pao
^bang on! Serena don't look her age, not surprised that she got accused of PS. Look very plastic and pale.
In these few pictures, some of them aren't the worst. Serena looks kinda "fake". Wing & Gloria are not that bad. I think i might favour Gloria.. she kinda looks like Vivien Yeo
A closer look and a few of them actually looks decent. After and few touch ups by the makeup/stylist crews, some of them might be amazing...
i posted this in chat but here is all the pics http://misshk.tvb.com/2012/photo.php most of them are not worth posting:ugh: shinobi likey
I guess this year is an improvement. But honestly...some of those could pass themselves off as men. :S
