I upgraded mine to 2.72 from 2.70 of M131 hardware. Now tv video is stuck on PAL, not switable to NTSC, while on HDMI. Does that happen to anybody else?
So you do have signal on your TV, but when you go into Settings you see that PAL is the only video mode ? Just a hunch, but have you already tried to switch to Component and then back to HDMI ? You can change the video output by pressing F1 twice on the remote. Then wait a bit after your screen goes all black and then press F1 twice again to switch back to HDMI.
Moved from Live Streaming thread ... If the hardware is similar to the TVPad's then probably, but I wouldn't know how you would start with flashing your media player with the TVPad firmware. I'm trying to learn as much as I can with the little time that I have, but we probably need someone a bit more specialized in these sort of things to help us out with that. My hardcore hacking days are long past, lol
Can someone help me? I used a program MiniTool Partition Wizard Home Edition to format my USB to Ext3. But how can I upload the update firmware on windows 7? thnx
You don't really have to format the usb to EXT format. Fat32 or NTFS will work just fine. Just copy the firmware file to the root of the USB. Plug USB into TVpad, go to settings - upgrade and it should auto detect the file and upgrade will begin. Just make sure your tvpad detect your usb drive. good luck!
And if you really insist that it has to be Ext3, then check the last question (option 3) of the FAQ in the main post.
Hi Phantoman, great thread! Just need some advice on how to find out the port the TVPad is using. I've tried some port scanners, but keep getting false positives. I managed to narrow it down to the xxx0 range yesterday, but today it doesn't seem to work. I was able to stream to XBMC (on iPad and iPhone), VLC Player (on desktop PC and laptop) and also VPlayer (on android - which is great I must say). Thanks!
Ok, did you really have to mention the port ? Lol, keep it a bit challenging for people See the post above yours. Basically each time you change the channel, the port is incremented by one. Right now mine is at xx25. Not that I have confirmed this, but I'll take jason13863's word for it. And if it turns out to be false, then you guys can blame him -noclue (j/k) So you probably need to scan a bit more or do it it the hard way and increment it manually yourself. I haven't played with any playlist yet in XBMC to see if I can automate this process. It's on my to-do list. Currently I am trying to see if I can break the encrypted SopCast URL that is returned by these TVPad apps.
I fully agree with you about VPlayer! It works like a dream on my Android phone. If only there was a IOS equivilent, there would be no need to mess about with .strm files. As for port scanning, you really don't need to anymore with the discovery of the "+1" issue You have the correct port range already. That I can confirm is constant for all current firmware up 2.72. I can also confirm when you first launch the TVB app, the port is always xxx1. After each channel change, it becomes +1. If you exit the app and go back in it always reverts back to xxx1. With this in mind, you will have a good idea what the current port is unless you have a mad channel hopper holding the remote control Oh, might be a good idea if you edit your post and remove the port range
Okies. I see now. Will try this later. Thanks!! Ah ic. I didn't realise it would go back to xxx1 after quitting the app. Any idea if this is the same for all the apps? Or just the TVB one? Also, would it be the same for using the On Demand TVB app? Thanks!
Never heard of this media player, I have been using BS Player, but I guess I'll have to check out this VPlayer now. Which I do in this house, it's already at xx28 Likewise, you quoted him with the port number
I didn't play with the new TVB VOD app yet, but I have my doubts whether it is using the SopCast client like the other apps that do live streaming. SopCast clients both on Windows and Linux do open a local listening port for media players to stream from.
I'm wandering whether it'll be possible to put in a range of ports. For example: http://IPOFTVPAD:XXX1-XX20 Will that work? Not at home at the moment so cannot test it out just yet. :(
Well I only tested the TVB app. I will try the others later and get back to you. And no, the new On Demand TVB app does not work in the same way.
