There is a "Video format not supported" when the video player launches. Is there another app which has to be downloaded to make this app work?

Works fine for me when I select to open the stream using BSPlayer.

I am only seeing 1 Cantonese channel (tvb) using that app. The quality of that tvb stream is quite good and most of the times it runs without stuttering.

Not me, I see nearly all TVB channels (not all work though). Did you filter on country = China ?

Yes, I have filtered it on country and on language. It appears that the app is not working properly on my smartphone (based on Android 2.2). The different channels seem to be there, but I don't see the channel icons of all channels. I can only see one channel icon (tvb jade). Touching randomly on some black background area cause a channel to start, but I can't see what channel it is.

Ah ok, I was trying with Android 4.0. Hmmm, I wonder if I can get the direct links somehow.

And you are correct :) For some of the channels you can see the direct link in the media player itself or through a packet sniffer, but there are some that use this bloody force:// url which I have no clue how to play that.

Edit 1: Direct links to HTTP streams attached.

    Edit 2:

No they are not. TVPad streams are based on SopCast, these are HTTP streams. As I mentioned earlier, some of the streams in this Android app also use "force://" URLs and this is similar to the URLs of the new TVB VOD app on the TVPad. So there is a link somewhere.

How to open these Http streams in Windows PC?
I tried VLC, but its always rebuffering every 2 seconds, even if I set a large cache. then after a min VLC stops playing the stream

I tried in ipad 3 with aceplayer, but the ipad 3 could not handle it cpu wize

I have one of this kind model C70t

    [video=youtube;gob0L3iDwXs]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gob0L3iDwXs[/video]

it seems that is access is based on MAC address. How can I sniff out the traffic?

    thanks

Please see the red bold letters in the main post.

This is probably related to your location or Internet speed. They play fluently for me in VLC. Let's wait and see what the experience from other people are.

When will you update the 1st post with these http://119.147.242.68:10007 links?

My internet in Canada is 20M download speed. I guess its the server problem, how to make a mirror server for this?

here is my tracert (with some timeout, I think I can't use it..)

    Code:
    ...
     7 31 ms 30 ms 28 ms 218.30.54.73
     8 98 ms 106 ms 97 ms 202.97.49.77
     9 412 ms 693 ms 550 ms 202.97.51.5
    10 300 ms 300 ms 301 ms 202.97.34.45
    11 349 ms 316 ms 332 ms 202.97.33.29
    12 329 ms 327 ms 326 ms 202.97.35.46
    13 329 ms 327 ms 326 ms 183.59.5.65
    14 335 ms 335 ms 333 ms 183.59.5.142
    15 348 ms 350 ms 348 ms 119.147.240.206
    16 * * * Request timed out.
    17 * * * Request timed out.
    18 335 ms 358 ms 340 ms 119.147.242.68

Never heard of that media player before. Well there are 2 ways for you to sniff the traffic. One way is to do it via your router if it has a port monitoring functionality (for example see this). The other way is to use ARP poisoning (for example using Interceptor-NG). In both cases you redirect all traffic from the device to your PC where you can then sniff the packets using for example Wireshark.

Please see first message on this page (scroll up) for new links.

If it was a server problem, then I would have the same problem. I also see those timeouts when I do a tracert. It just means that those hops are not replying to ping requests. My Internet bandwidth is 100Mbit though, so maybe that has something to do with it as well. Like I said, let's wait and see what the experience is for other people. After that I will add the links to the main post.

I am from Toronto, Canada too. I got the same problem. VLC stop playing after a few seconds. When I used Android to play, it keeps buffering. I got a 100MB link too. The IP is at Pakistan. I think it is not very good to access that server in Pakistan from Canada.

Uhhh ... well I didn't try the streams today yet, but now I did and they are crap compared to last night. So I guess it doesn't matter if you are in Canada or not :) Maybe too many people streaming from the channels now ?

Is it possible to do ARP poisoning within Windows XP ICS wired only?

Many years ago when I sniff NNTP account/pw, and bank login info, I used wireless, now that I don't use wireless anymore. I ended up with a huge log file that ended up like finding a needle in the haystack, over 100,000 lines of data, and the login/pw is only on 2 lines

For the C70t, there is a "VIP" and a "VIP world", if I use the VIP, its always choppy (I assume its server in China), while the "VIP world" works fine, I think that is a mirror cache server located in North America.
