Follow the following Steps: Go to Options > Preference Advanced: All checked Connection: All checked Maximum Connection per task: 1000 Connection to keep per task: 1000 Max half open TCP connection: 500 IP rules: All checked Maximum sessions per IP downloading task: 3 Maximum sessions per IP uploading task: 1 Now properties of now downloading torrent: Right click on it. Properties > advanced: UNCHECK Enable public DHT network! credits: ymmot22 -AsianFanatics my download speeds jumped from 20-100 kb/s to 60-450 kb/s I dont know if this is required but if you are on a router, port foward your Bitcomet Listen Port Hope you guys find this useful
it also depends on your internet speed, maybe my internet is better than yours, so i would acheive higher speeds, i have a 4M cable connection by the way
"Max half open TCP connection: 500" by default XP SP2 limits these connections to 10 (i think) and you need to download a patch to change it Yeh the other settings should help, but i read that sometimes increasing the connections per task can actually slow down your speed, Best thing to do is increase by increments of like 20 till you find your optimum
yeah, i dont know about that. currently im downloading condor heros episode 26 and heres what im getting. download speed 270-342 kb/s upload speed 27 kb/s Seed/Peer: 135/351 Health: 28777%
wow, those are great speeds. My internet connection is pretty good. I get 20/5 I always seems to be uploading at like 500kbps, but downloads never exceed 150kbps.
no tweaks necessary and i still get better speeds than whats posted here..ha!..i got lucky..i live next to a main switching station....n rmbr
well, when you adjust the setting in BitComet, doesnt it not change in windows XP and only in the bitcomet program?
^ the TCP settings are in XP and you need a hack to increase the amount up http://www.lvllord.de/?lang=en&url=tools Ive used the patch and it has worked for me, but I wont take responsibility if it screws up your comp, you've been warned You need to limit your upload rate to just under what your line can handle. I have an 8Mb line and it can upload at 45KBs so putting it at 40 would be a ok
Yeh i cant actually get full speed due to my distance from the telephone exchange so I can get around 5.5mbs (megaBITs not bytes) so i can get download speed of around 600KBs
Those are some nice speeds you guys get. Maybe it's time for a new computer with XPP. I'm actually running Server2003 with my download computer.
I read a guide ages ago that told me those tweaks and to be honest I dunno if they actually work. The 2 things I know definately speed up my BT is port forwarding my router and increasing my upload rate
you get better speeds if you increase your upload rate? i limit it as low as i can, but when the download speed goes up, the upload rate ignores the cap and goes crazy
^ yeh the more you upload (share) the more you will download, that is if you keep you upload rate just under what your line can handle. If you upload too much it will really slow down your download Duno about the rates going above their caps... Sometimes its a bit crazy like 1-2KBs above but it usually is consistant
