Kate Tsui (徐子珊) and Tavia Yeung (楊怡) are currently the hot favorites to win the TVB TV Queen title of 2012. With two very popular dramas already aired, and one coming very soon at the end of the month, Tavia Yeung definitely has an advantage in the Best Actress race. Netizens have expressed their support for Kate to win Best Actress, and she is currently the most popular candidate for the honor. Although Kate Tsui only has one drama this year, her drama, Highs and Lows <雷霆掃毒> is currently airing to rave reviews. The crime action drama is also faring very well in viewership ratings, and Kate’s character, Pat, is arguably one of the most interesting and sympathetic characters in the show. From giving up her education to escape an abusive family, to becoming a bar girl, a police informant, to getting raped and becoming a drug queen, Kate’s character is one of the most popular characters in among Highs and Lows’ fans. Kate’s costars, Raymond Lam(林峯) and Ben Wong (黃智賢), have also become popular candidates for Best Actor and Best Supporting Actor respectively. Tavia’s recent “car-shaking” with Him Law (羅仲謙) have put a damper on Tavia’s chances in winning the race. However, Tavia may be able to regain her top spot in the race with the broadcast of TVB’s anniversary drama, Silver Spoon, Sterling Shackles <名媛望族>. The drama will finish its broadcast right before the anniversary awards, which gives Tavia yet another advantage in the best actress race. It's really Linda, Tavia, Myolie, or Kate. Dont think Maggie Cheung (The Last Steep Ascent) & Charmaine (When Heaven Burns) will win cause she's not in TVB anymore. Sharon not in a lot of dramas this year, Selena nothing spectacular. You also got Mandy Wong for Most Improved (highly likely), so should be a good candidate for upcoming years.
I hate KAte....but her acting improved while watching highs and lows.... at least her crying skills did.....
I think it's pretty stupid if the car incident with Him would pull down Tavia's chances of winning. I haven't actually started watching Highs and Lows yet, so I can't judge Kate's acting. But I do believe that Mandy Wong will win most improved!! She's come quite a long way. (And she's gained a fair bit of popularity which always heightens your chances of winning.)
Highs and Lows. Not sure if TVB will give the award to someone that isn't in TVB anymore. She will get nominated, but to actually win the award is hard to say.
kate has always had slut roles and it maybe reflects her. i like tavia better though. if im not mistaken. tavia has played more array of roles. i always associate tavia w/ crying roles as she's good at that.. as much as i followed kate since her HK GAL days, i like tavia.
