Mega only works with Chrome. As an Opera user, I understand if it's not compatible with Opera. So I tried FireFox as well. A bit surprised that even Firefox wouldn't work. However, the speed is unbelievable. 800kb/s i've reached as a free user. That's faster than any free sites I could think off other than Google Drive.
meh i had a lifetime for megaupload T_T. btw he said he will someday give it back to us. If you want to register, please do it with something other than hotmail, else you will have to add "@mega.co.nz" to the safe sender list because hotmail just blackholed this domain's emails, your email wont even show up in the junk folder. as of today 1/28/2013 the download speed of reaches a stable 960KBps
^ I signed up on the day the site was made public with hotmail. Didn't get confirmation right away, but received it in my Junk mail. I just dont want to use Chrome to use this website. It really sucks that it's not compatible with anything else.
are you sure that it wont work on the other browsers? because they are just recommending chrome cause it will work better with the site
Maybe it is compatible. But not with large files. The error message: Your browser is too old to download a file this large. It was 250mb.
oh ok, didnt know that, thanks for telling me. btw google chrome isnt that bad, is it? i was once a IE fan but nah its too buggy compared to chrome and now i use chrome as my main browser. do you use IE or firefox?
Opera. I've been an Opera user for at least 4 years. And not many people use it. And i refuse to change if the reason is only for Mega. Maybe it is time to switch to Chrome? I dont know.
uhmmm you dont have to change just for mega, you can just install it and only use it whenever you wanna use mega?
Obviously I have it installed, that's why I know only Chrome works when downloading big files like this
nah, their premium services have always been cheaper than the other file-sharing websites. i still remember when i paid 200 for a lifetime membership, i still think it is worth it.
Update: Mega has release a add-on extension for firefox. With mega extension, you are now able to download files. All you have to do is log into your mega account using firefox browser and a screen will pop-up asking if you want to install extension.
nope, downloading is free. but you have to register for a free account in order to download. The only thing mega will charge you for is premium accounts.
