Raymond Lam Spent 1.8 Million on Karena Ng?

Is Raymond Lam (林峯) willing to spend millions to make new girlfriend Karena Ng (吳千語) happy? Taking three trips to Tokyo, Okinawa, and Milan in the span of three weeks, the price tag of the international flights was already hefty. Adding the shopping costs of luxury designer goods, the splurge-action would quickly soar past millions of dollars.

Tabloids reported that while in Milan, Raymond spent $1.8 million HKD to snap up five Hermes Birkin handbags for Karena. Allowing Karena to conveniently shop to her heart’s desire, Raymond also allegedly gifted the prestigious American Express Centurion Card, in which the cardholders are typically highly affluent millionaires.

Appearing at a promotional event in Hong Kong today, Raymond denied that he gave Karena the American Express “black card”. “Don’t be so old-fashioned; what generation are we in? I have not even seen this card myself.”

When drilled on whether he had spent $1.8 million HKD on designer handbags for his girlfriend, Raymond answered ambiguously, “There’s no need to share personal matters. And this is unimportant. I also bought many things for my family.”

While the Hong Kong media attempted to attach Raymond’s love for Karena with a price tag, the 33-year-old was more upset that photos from their Milan flight were painted as indecent frolicking on the airplane.

“It’s very sad. It’s a very sweet trip. I went over to cover Karena with a blanket and give her a goodnight kiss and asked if she wanted to eat. The story became twisted in the published news. We were behaving in a normal way, but the news was reported and described [in such a manner]. Let’s reflect on what’s normal. Enough is enough; I hope to see this stop,” Raymond said sternly.

Karena responded that she had paid for all of her own credit card bills while on vacation with Raymond. “There is no such thing. I will not allow him to pay for the bills. I paid for all the bills myself.”
