Anyone playing this or plan to get it? Would be cool to get some more people to play this with. Planning to roll a Monk on Malboro for now.
How did you guys manage your attribute point? I've yet to spend any, but I'm thinking of going all strength. Would it be wise to avoid vitality all together?
damn, dunno how u guys manage to play this game.... i felt asleep after playing for awhile not to mention falling asleep waiting for an open server.. .... I also tried playing today when i'm free and BAM, service maintenance until next week, lmao......no wonder it's $20...
Yea the launch has been pretty bad and it has been handled poorly as well. One of the worst game launches I have been a part of.
For my white mage, I went for full piety first (maximum mana) for undergeared purposes. When I acquire better equipment that maximizes my mana more, I may just allocate it 50/50 into healing potency and maximium mana pools. If you can't log in or didn't try enough, yeah. It's difficult to say. I've been able to log on and play and this game's playable launch is among the best. No lag fests like everything else I've played. They didn't anticipate the amount of traffic they would get in a paid subscription MMO in this day and age. They understand their JP market way better and there's less problems there but for the NA/EU servers they were blown out of proportions. They're addressing that this week with maintenance. They said the duty finder is one of the root causes for the login problems because it's "cross realm". SE said they're gonna split it up into clusters like battlegroups from WoW. I've been logged in for days actually and haven't really afk'd much lol. The games pretty good and I am putting in crazy hours with my friends at the moment. It's cheaper because this is a reboot of the first failed launch of FFXIV. Hit 50 earlier in the weekend and finished the main storyline.
^ i applaud u, u could actually play and lvl your character up... ive been attempting to login 1000 times and it said overflow for the past 4 days......now, my weekend is over and hopefully, i get to play next weekend...
lol I didn't log out much either. But when my game did crash I was able to get back on after 10-15 minutes of attempts. I'm on Goblin btw, which is probably not a high population server. So that may have something to do with it.
This update is going to be pretty big for SE. Hopefully it will fix most of the log in issues. I know MMO launches are always like this, I've been through them. Still agitates the hell out of me after buying the game on launch and not even hit the level 20 mark. We're still within the 2 week period so it's not a total disaster yet. Still can't believe I played a total of less than 2 hours this whole long weekend.
Hehe, I may have clocked in 200hrs since beta phase 4... :x WITH AFK time of course when I was at work and at the gym.
Interested in what crafting/gathering classes you guys are going. My main two are fishing/culinary, but I'm starting to level leatherworking as well. I can't really stand any of the other gathering classes other than fishing.
If you work monthly fees shouldn't be a problem. I'd rather pay a fee monthly nowadays cuz f2p games restrict like 90% of the stuff behind paywalls.
