Link to article: http://gizmodo.com/firefighters-cant-save-people-burning-in-cars-because-o-1718675039 Pretty stupid how they have to ground all the aircrafts because of a drone nearby... Even to rescue people, delayed because of a drone that doesn't pose much risk...
I understand that they want to get "cool" footage, but come on. I think it's common sense if you fly a drone, it will interfere with the helicopter. It may not pose much risk, but you never know what will happen if it does interfere with the helicopter. Yea it's stupid that they have to ground the helicopter cause of a drone, but no one knows the consequences if it does interfere with the helicopter. Better safe than sorry.
I could see how a drone crashing into the tail rotor would be problem ... but then again I'm no helicopter expert
I guess a drone could cause some problems... Some blames are on drones for slowing down rescuing burning/preventing cars from burning on the highway because of the wildfire spreading. edit: Apparently there were 5 drones in the air, 3 of them landed quickly, the other 2 continued to film for 15 to 20 minute according the the fire fighter report on the news...
Most countries have strict laws where you could fly a drone. Near airports & highways are no fly zone. Some places may require you to have a permit to operate a drone. Drone operator should just use a bit of common sense before he/she decide to fly it.
More and more people are using drones these days and it has become a really danger when some of these fools misuse it.
If birds can interfere with planes taking off, I don't see why drones would consider as non-risk! I'm not a helicopter expert either, but just saying!
I seen some idiot playing with one at a park, it almost hit someone. Only than did he left, next was calling the police...
