Kate Tsui (徐子珊), who made her debut in the industry after winning the crown in the 2004 Miss Hong Kong Pageant, is unsure if she wants to renew her TVB contract when it ends at the end of the year. Currently taking a break from acting, Kate has enrolled in jewelry design classes and is looking forward to share some of her own designs in the future. At a recent public event, Kate admitted that she is still up in the air about her TVB contract renewal. “I’ve been in discussion with the company all this time,” shared Kate. “Aside from doing films, the company has also thought about arranging other work for me.” Asking if it was true that her TVB contract will be ending this October, Kate clarified, “It’s not in October, but it is sometime soon.” With a love for jewelry design, Kate expressed her intentions to work in the jewelry industry in the future. She is currently unsure if she wants to continue her management under TVB or switch to a different agency. Rumors say that Kate will not renew her TVB contract because she is upset with TVB for cutting her screen time and offering her drama productions that give her little chance to enter the TV Queen race. Kate denied, “That’s not true, but I did tell the company that I want to lessen the workload. I find filming one movie and one drama a year to be at a good pace.
