Jane Zhang (張靚穎) was involved in an accident during her BANG the World Tour concert in Beijing last night. In the middle of her performance for the song "BangBang," Jane took too many steps back and accidentally fell into a 2 meter deep lift shaft behind her. The dancer next to her attempted to catch her but couldn't react in time to save her. Everything came to a halt and the audience was in the state of shock and disbelief. Reno Wang (王錚亮) stepped in to continue the concert and confirmed that Jane was injured from the fall. After one song from Reno, Jane reappeared on stage again and apologized to the audience. Jane teary-eyed apologetically said that the accident was due to her carelessness and lack of professionalism. She emphasized that tonight's concert was very important to her and insisted on continuing the concert. Wow, good on her for true spirit of "the show must go on"... one must wonder whether they practiced with the lift shaft exposed like that. Would seem to be a big hazard for the performers. Glad she's OK though tough cookie
That's a professional, she did make any excuses and move on. Lucky, no major injuries. She was one of my favorite singers but forgot about her. Good time to catch up to some new songs from her.
That is scary stuff. I remember Taeyeon experienced something similar where she fell down an elevating stage. Traumatized her cause in the next concert, she avoided(hopped over) any elevating stages even when it was fully up.
Think a lot of the performers get so into the zone, they forget where the stages end and other dangerous areas.
