I’m thinking about going to HK on December so I’d like to know if some of you had been there at that moment and if it is a good idea. I only know HK with the heat of july or august.
mr_evolution should be able to give you hints and tips... maybe even take you around now that he's a local there... It will be so much fun and packed with sights to see

Maybe one or two weeks, I don't really know yet. One week seems short but I'm not fond of shopping so two weeks seems too long. Any ideas ?
You should plan out where you want to go first and have time to enjoy your stay and not rush through it, HK have some popular places to visit and tons of good food, Macau is fun to visit, not just for the casinos and hot girls. Once you figure out what you want to do in HK, you'll know if one week is enough, I'll take 10 days to 2 weeks just so, I'll have time to just chill and not rush through it. Your girls can hang with me...
okay jokes aside i'll help you guys out if you give me more info. 1) In December, its peak season, so get your tickets and hotel sorted asap 2) Im guessing you've been to HK before, so you have a general idea where the main districts are for hotels and entertainment 3) If you wish to go to a theme park, choose Ocean Park over Disneyland. DO NOT GO ON WEEKENDS OR NEAR CHRISTMAS unless you want to play queuing simulator. 4) An octopus card is a must. 5) Museums are free on Wed. 6) Macau is worth visiting if you havent been (will give you more info if you need any) If you have any more questions or need advise ask here or pm me for sensitive info. Not fond of shopping?! ... but but HK is so good for that I spent one trip to HK going to lots of different recommended places on Openrice... Was a great food degustation journey If you like eating I'd recommend trawling through the Openrice app to find lots of great places to try
Personally I wouldnt recommend some of the top restaurants on openrice. It is overhyped due to popularity It is overpriced due to popularity May take up to 2 hours for a queue (no joke) Its best to read the negative review to get the most objective opinion. Dec is probably the best time to go, its also its peak season so expect costs of hotels/tickets to be more. This is a great site to see whats on during the time of your stay.
Lots of festive things to see during December but as evo mentioned, it means that there's going to people galore
December is not a bad time to go if u don't mind paying exorbitant price for hotel. The Xmas lightings around TST & Central look awesome. Don't bother about shopping in HK, everything so $$$$$ nowadays. Especially all those Michelin star restaurants. Lots and lots of mainland chinese.
mr_evolution Thanks for the website How is the weather in december ? hoyeah! I know it will be expensive but I really need some holidays, I'm going crazy if I can't go anywhere. Fortunately I have a place to go, I won't have to look for hotel. But the mainland chinese...I didn't expect them...
But I've found when there are the big sales on (usually after each festive season/end of quarter) the savings and pricing is quite good.. compared to AUS pricing anyways Yes, them michelin star restaurants are a lot of hype i found... I was thinking more of using open rice for suggestions, then trawling through the reviews to see pos/neg reviews. I found it useful for finding nice buffets and niche japanese restaurants Cold and Windy i thought? Yes! lots and lots of mainlanders EVERYWHERE - even when it's not festive season they are everywhere.... just going to be heaps more during xmas
