    Skate Key; used to secure Clip On Roller Skates. The key turned a screw mechanism on the underside of the skate, either opening or closing the two clasps on either side, allowing the clasps to tighten onto one's shoes. Primitive, but effective. Welcome to the 1950's, LOL...

    Sharp eyed media watchers will be able to see that the American soldier doing the translating in years to come, will later star as our fabled Mr. Spock ;)
