H! You're right about sales but I can't choose my holidays. Cold is ok, it is december not july I think there many people everywhere during xmas but I will discuss it with my cousin.
The good thing is rmb is down so less mainlanders Weather is chilly/cold, although its not -xx degrees, HK has that chilly atmosphere where you still cant get warm no matter how much layers you put on. But overall, its still a great time to come
Good point with rmb. I will tell it to my cousin because now she doubts about the price of tickets and the mainlanders. I have to convince her to go with me. I don't like winter, I think HK can be ok compare to other places like America or Europe.
amano.ai where you from? lol you should tell your cousin, that the price of tickets should be ok... and the mainlanders, well.... after a little while you'll get used to them. They'll be like background/grey noise
mr_evolution I am really planning my trip now so according to your answer I'm going too bother you a little . I haven't a list of questions but first I'd like to know what we can do for NYE except going to Lan kwai fang. I saw there will be a firework so do you think it is a good idea to search for a place to see it ? I guess the avenue of stars will be crowded but maybe we can go somewhere else to see it. I saw many place have to be booked early, do you think it will be ok in october ?
^ If you find a place for the fireworks...let me know. I've been in HK before for CNY fireworks so I imagine it'll be similarly planned (near the harbour). People will be lining up hours before and it's going to be mad mad busy. I would not recommend being near the TST/avenue of the stars area. And for the record, LKF is seldom a bad option!
for fireworks, you can see it clearly (front view) on two sides a) TST b) CWB, WanChai, admiralty, central TST from experience is packed as fuk. so best option is probably wan chai/central ideally central is nice and open but it really depends on the wind and smog etc.
Are you talking about cheung chau, peng chau, lamma ? I hope I can visit them in december. I'll tell you then if it is interesting. I heard about hiking in lamma, I'll try it if te weather is ok.
If you want a glimpse of old HK or the traditional stuff its great to visit. But if you are in HK for a short time then no
Don't really know but I expect I can go there to relax a little with no car or buiding and fresh air Maybe I can eat some nice food.
cheung chau - home of the famous bun climbing festival, tin hau temple, great street food. awesome mango/durian mochi peng chau - some more temples
It's time to update ! I had a great trip. Even if it's not the first time in HK I really enjoyed it. I saw other places than before and the weather was good even if there is a lot of smog in my pics. Christmas in malls
