Two years ago, Christine Kuo (苟芸慧) had to take a leave of absence from TVB due to hypothyroidism. As a result of the disease, Christine’s weight Christine ballooned up to 170 pounds at one point. Due to her excessive weight gain and lack of work, Christine went through a rough period of emotional decline. Fortunately, with the support and encouragement from her good friends, she was able to overcome her depression and focus on maintaining her health. In addition to developing a healthy habit of golfing to reduce stress, Christine has also invested a six-figure sum into a dessert shop with friends. With the positive turn of events, Christine’s mood improved drastically and has led her to a successful recovery. Having shied away from the camera since being diagnosed with hypothyroidism, Christine made a high profile appearance at the TVB Anniversary Gala. Although flaunting her voluptuous figure in a plunging evening gown, Christine appeared awkward and clumsy in the dress. Despite being inactive for two years, Christine’s status remained undeterred and was arranged to stand in the front row beside Raymond Wong (黃浩然) and Jacqueline Wong (黃心穎). Christine’s successful weight loss led to an extension of her TVB management contract. Christine’s participation in the upcoming series, EU: Overtime Mission <EU超時任務>, marks her first performance since returning to work.
