After shooting Tiger Cubs II <飛虎> in late 2013, Christine Kuo (苟芸慧) put a halt on all her activities. Diagnosed with hypothyroidism, an endocrine gland disorder that is due to a decrease in thyroid hormone production, Christine gained weight and felt constantly fatigued. It took Christine at least two years to recover. The 32-year-old resumed work in early 2015, and was cast in the sci-fi television series EU: Time-Travel Mission <EU超時任務>, which will be showing sometime this year. In a radio interview, Christine recalled the time when she first discovered her hypothyroidism, and admitted that it was one of the lowest times of her life. “It took me a while to realize that I was sick,” said Christine. “I realized that there were certain things that my body couldn’t do anymore. I was also depressed. Whenever I went out, I would hear many unpleasant things about me.” Christine then went more candid in her interview. She said, “Their words did hurt me! I really wanted people to understand, but no one did. They continued to step on me. I felt so dejected. I used to cherish them so much.” Asking if Christine was referring to the press, the Tiger Cubs actress said, “No. I’m talking about my colleagues at work.” When Christine first discovered that she had hypothyroidism in late 2013, she was rumored to be the third party that caused Aaron Kwok (郭富城) to break up with Lynn Hung (熊黛林). Christine had denied this multiple times. Christine admitted that the rumor was one of the triggers that spiked her stress levels. “Having to work in Hong Kong, I also have to face the multiple cultural differences. Many elements were stacking up, but that incident was the trigger. I never had the time to take care of my body and mind. After taking my long break, I had time to think about it again, and now I understand how I should face the people I meet in the future.” Creds: Oncc
We see those type of people on TVB dramas all the time...lol She should take care of herself, maybe now she'll know who her real friends are cause in the ENT business, it's hard to tell who your real friends are until you're at your lowest. Generally speaking for anyone as well.
She's not even fat. It's just that the HK fashion trend is towards people looking like toothpicks. Even the diesel guys in HK looks weak but are considered to look like they're in shape.
The hard way to learn about the reality of life. When you're at the highest of highs, everyone is your friend and you feel so loved. When you're down in the dumps, at the lowest of lows, you realize not everyone truly cares about you. Christine just needs to understands this is the way life is and not take it to heart.
The business is fake. Sad how fake actors/actresses are. The point is. WHO MADE THOSE COMMENTS? Myolie? Tavia? Kate?
Even with her weight gain from hypothyroidism, she wasn't that fat but the HK standard has always been the skinnier the better to the point that some people look anorexic. But haters love to make fun of others with BS name calling, those people should look how ugly they are first before talking about others.
lol, that's mean. But then again, I was never a fan of HK's standards for female figures, I like my girls with a little bit of meat , you know...not starving
Yea...... i went to hk and china .....a lot of them are like two chopsticks...I think women with curves are sexier
although when I play ball with those kids in HK, I have a good 60-80 lb, it feels pretty good lol. My cousin in Hong Kong is about 95-100 lb, even in my opinion that is skinny, and she said she's still fat, she wants to lose 10 lbs so she can look great my responses "you lose another 10 lbs, you'd look great in a coffin"
Yeah curves are great, they used to call Bernice fat too didn't they but she's all curves! Christine just keeping doing your thing!
