Tavia Yeung (楊怡) has confirmed that she will not renew her TVB management contract once it expires in April, officially ending her 17-year relationship TVB. Due to her impending departure, the actress has also turned down a role in TVB’s upcoming drama The Conspirators <與諜同謀>, which stars Gallen Lo (羅嘉良). The Conspirators begins production in March. The 36-year-old said she was excited for the opportunity to work with Gallen when TVB producer Wong Wai-sing (黃偉聲) first offered her the role. But because her contract will end one month into production, she had no choice to turn it down, adding that it is her responsibility to not jeopardize the project with her contract matters. She felt pity for not being able to work with Gallen. Rumor has it that TVB canceled the broadcast of Tavia’s last TVB drama The Last Healer In Forbidden City <末代御醫> because of her decision to not renew, but costar Roger Kwok (郭晉安) said he is not worried about the rumor. “This is a big-budget production,” said Roger. “I’ve never heard of a business that would not want to make back its investments.” The Last Healer In Forbidden City is expected to premiere sometime this year on TVB’s on-demand streaming service, myTV super. Tavia was a graduate of the 13th TVB artists training class in 1999 and was cast in her first major supporting role in 2000’s The Green Hope <新鮮人>. She won the TVB Anniversary Award for Most Improved Female in 2003 for her performance Vigilante Force <智勇新警界>, Best Supporting Actress in 2008 for Moonlight Resonance <溏心風暴之家好月圓>, Most Popular Female Character in 2009 for Beyond the Realm of Conscience <宮心計>, and Best Actress in 2012 for Silver Spoon, Sterling Shackles <名媛望族>. in what way is she a skank though? People all look for better opportunities and money...there's no loyalty when it comes to your career. If something amazing comes up, you GOT to take it. It sucks cuz she's one of the few that I think is very watchable. I enjoyed her in 36 hours (both series) and many others. She may not be the "best" actress TVB has to offer but it beats many of the ones TVB tries to promote. Primarily the one I am talking about is Sisley and Grace. They may be good actresses one day in the future, but for now, neither of those two or most of the actresses they try to bring in are ready for the big stage yet. Never really a HUGE fan of hers, but she's definitely one of the better actress in TVB during the 2000s era. She's probably gonna go to Mainland and i do wish her the best.

Expresso your comment makes no sense...it's a contract job it's not like she had shares in the company and she's part of the company...she's an employee that contracted to do a job. If a better opportunity comes up you take it just like any other job. She didn't skank(sell) out she was with them for 17 years she owes no one except herself.

she will always be seen as a veteran no matter where she goes. It is her skills and experience that brings value to wherever she goes. There is no such thing as betrayal in business. She signs a contract and that contract expired. Put it simply, you work for Company A for $50,000 a year for 2-3 years...I am the boss of company B and offer you $75,000. Would you jump? I bet you would, but that isn't betrayal to your old company at all. You're doing what is best for you and your career. A good opportunity comes along and it might not come again. As we like to put it, there is not one person who cannot be replaced in any company, to upper management, you're just another foot soldier. TVB has money and power to develop younger and newer generations of actresses. It's business. Put it in another way, how long will it take until TVB finds someone more marketable and replace Tavia. She's 36, while still quite young in her industry, new bloods are coming in every year. If TVB replaces her tomorrow, did TVB betray her? And I still don't get how she is a skank by dating Him Law? cuz he's younger? A lot of women date men younger than them all the time, there is nothing wrong with that.
What I'm trying to say is what xaznxryux just said. Her contract ended, and a better opportunity came for her. You're saying if a person begins their career at company A, they should be loyal to them and never jump ship. So if a drop out high school students works at McDonalds, according to you they should just continue flipping burgers and work their way up to manager because who cares if better opportunities come and have the chance to make more money (going back to school and become an engineer or w/e). Is it betrayal to quit McDonalds and go back to school? And what does me eating at McDonalds have to do with anything? Don't tell me you're trying to say I eat at McDonalds so I can't eat at other burger chains because I have to stay loyal to McDonalds. Do I have more respect for people that decides to stay in TVB? I really hate quoting to this guy because i know he does not, whatsoever, make any sense..... but i cannot resist. MY contract in the military was 4 years, but i extended it for a little more. Throughout the years in the military, i deployed 2 times. So based on Espresso's logic, since i did not extend my contract anymore, my Veteran's stats has been terminated and i deserved to be hated. I am a betrayer in America just like Bowe Bergdahl (a deserter that Obama "saved" by trading in deadly terrorists.....) WOOHOO, might as well leave America..... This dude let his emotion takes over his brain which led to things that DOES NOT make any sense no matter who and what tries to talk logic to him.
Thank you for serving as well and in my book Tavia is a veteran. The only peeps you can blame are the mainlanders with their black $ taking away all the talented HK stars away. Can't blame them for wanting to provide for their well being and expanding their talent. Will be sad to see her leave though, if anything maybe she'll branch out into HK movies...
