Myolie Wu (胡杏兒) and TVB did not part in the most amicable of ways back in early 2015. Although it was a peaceful separation, Myolie’s decision to sign with the agency GME China soon after her leave had prompted TVB to put her in their blacklist for a while. The 36-year-old did not deny these reports, admitting that she did not stay in contact with TVB. But the two parties have let bygones be bygones. Myolie made her big return to TVB cameras this September, when her bridal company Kevolie signed an exclusive deal with TVB to create night gowns for the ten final contestants of the Miss Hong Kong Pageant. Myolie herself made an appearance at the MHK finals with her business partner and designer Kev Yiu, introducing their work. With such a successful collaboration, TVB are opening their doors to welcome Myolie back home. According to a gossip report, TVB has been diligently courting Myolie to return to her mother station to film an upcoming drama. Myolie herself has admitted to having “brief talks” with TVB about filming a drama. Creds: Eastweek
I don't like Myolie, so pretty much don't care if she makes a comeback or not. However, that's crazy ... so, to TVB, no talents can go work for other companies irregardless of how good the opportunities may be or how badly TVB treats its talents? Is this modern day slavery?
I mean they dont have much choices either for small screen. I mean you can film for another station that nobody watches. At least for the Hong Kong market that is.
well, in my honest opinion there are benefits to both sides...when there are benefits that helps both sides, anything goes...you know the saying, money talks. It's promotion for Myolie's line and TVB gets to keep pitching Myolie to come back locking her to contracts. It's a win win for the time being
TVB has been doing this to many stars over the years but they need talent now and there are many competition willing to sweep their veterans away by offering better contracts.
What you talking about Modern Day slavery? The entertainment circle is totally different from what you are making it out to be. Its an industry where fame and working relationships go hand in hand. With China becoming a big time player and competitor, it obviously changes the landscape for the parties involved. I dont get why people make such a big deal, a lot of artists have jumped between networks.
It's either TVB or an HK Movie film production company or go to mainland basically is what it comes down to it....when it comes to getting paid and staying in the limelight.
when they are in talks, Both parties will sure wants to make sure money coming in to their account. All good is a win win scenario. For us we get to watch the drama
