Since winning Miss Hong Kong 2013, Grace Chan (陳凱琳) quickly rose through the ranks and became TVB’s most promoted actress. However, with quick fame also came the criticisms. Fortunately, coupled with her positive personality and determination, Grace looked past the negative comments. In regards to being called a “vase”, Grace expressed, “I try to do my best in each and every series. I would communicate with the producers and actors so I can gain experience. Of course, I have a lot of room for improvement. I can’t be scared to think about how people will see me after each drama airs. But at the very least, as long as I’ve done everything I could for each series, then I think it’s okay. I hope that viewers will slowly change their minds about me.” Receiving backlash on her acting skills, Grace said the worst comment she received was when someone told her, “I turn off the TV whenever you’re on”. She admitted that she was fairly hurt by the words since she worked hard on her series. Grace’s biggest concern was not wanting her parents to feel sad after reading the reports. Choosing to ignore the negative comments, Grace will use actions to showcase her improvement instead. Although Grace’s acting has been met with criticism, she took the opportunity to praise her boyfriend, Kevin Cheng‘s (鄭嘉穎) excellent acting skills. She expressed, “Kevin really loves acting. In Destination Nowhere <迷>, despite playing a gentle and demure man, he was still very charming. He is great with any role. When he is filming, he is very professional and focused. I admire him a lot.” Creds: stheadline
“I turn off the TV whenever you’re on” thats harsh we seeing less and less of her this year which is a good thing!! last one was BK2?
Same here but even then I didn't finish Blue Veins..... she doesn't have much of a presence that says " watch me watch me" , doesn't capture my attention lol
lol to be fair, I'm guilty of this, Sisley and her has not given me any reasons so far to give them a chance. I think for now, both of them are more suited to be 2nd or even 3rd lead rather than the main...in my honest opinion they are not ready to take on these roles.
Yeah it's lame when they give these young newbies lead roles instead of second and even third tier KLF's that deserve it a lot more then them...I understand they're young and fresh...but if they're not at that level yet...
Her acting was never good to begin with, but she was brought up a different type of image. However, all that failed when she started to date and progress further with Kevin at the beginning of her career/opportunities. She was a 'different' face and with so many actresses marrying, leaving TVB, or whatever, she was right up there. It's obvious she chose a more personal life. But Kevin Cheng? Come on.
You have to understand, there aren't too many icons or idols with TVB anymore. A lot of them have left ! From a business standpoint, it's VERY OBVIOUS, they have not committed or invested too much in any particular person. Instead, they have broad based promoted everyone across the board. Go and study the marketing side of things, i.e. the posters.
