recommend mazda mx5 or rx8. mx5 is a 2 seater convertible, rx8 4 seats and has outward folding doors.

If you have the money, then you should get either a BMW M3 or G35 Coupe. If you looking for somethin small then maybe the S2000 or the New Miata.

RS4 would be much sportier than the A8.

Since poster didn't say a budget... MB SLR McLaren gets my vote. Plenty fast, plenty class

You can't make a McLaren F1 a daily. It's too much a weekend car. Need comfort while doing your normal cruises. So even with a F1 in the garage, you still need the SLR to be your daily ;)

It depend on your budget, however, BMW M3 is excellent choice.

I would recommend either waiting for the new M3 to come out, or just get a 335 coupe/sedan (they actually both weigh about the same, so its up to you whether you want a 4 dr or 2 dr) and chip it. I really like the way BMWs drive, so I might be a little biased.

G35 coupe would be my next recommendation. Or just wait for the G37.. it looks pretty sweet.

And since the original poster seems to have disappeared.. I think this thread is dead.
