Chinese kung fu, hmm the chinese kung fu we know today dont really exist, its either being replaced with special effects in movies, or in real life its being replaced with self defense.

I am descended from a kungfu champion (武狀元) of the Ming Dynasty about 300 years ago; I am the eighth generation. One should see the "house/mansion" we have lived in before my dad migrated to Canada, it is huge, covers about 6 acres.
my uncles and relatives still live there[中山市], its half way between Guangzhou city [廣州] and Macau[澳門] in Guangdong Prov廣東.
A lot of people used to come to our house to learn kungfu "in the old days" as my grandfather used to say, but not anymore. my cousins, brothers, sisters and me all start our training at age 5; looking back, boy, was it HARD WORK.
No wonder, people dont wanted to learn kungfu anymore.

REAL kungfu is like what 黃飛鴻/方世玉 uses, not the kind displayed in mOvies/tv series by Jet Li or Jackie Chan.
my grandad/dad call those in the movies "fancy-pancy" moves with no real substance.

    Oh yea.?

    I'm learned my kung-fu from 黃飛鴻/方世玉 and then I learned tae-kwon-do.

First of all, if u didnt see all of jackie chan and jet li movies then dont say its not real becuz jackie chan had a lot of movies which are not from hollywood show real kung fu such the snake style kung or the drunken fist and for jet li if u see other movies other than the modern ones then ull see the styles he had learn from shaolin. Also, 方世玉 is known as a legend which is not true if u want to no what is true then go look at 霍元甲 which is well known after the ching dynasty. For 黃飛鴻/
you forgot to mention his father who taught him hung gar which is 黃麒英. . Also, there are still ppl learnin kung fu rite now and its not whether its hard work or whatever but it helps strengthen themselves and ppl are interested in learnin kung fu cuz it had very long history.

I always thought wushu was more theatical than martial arts. Sort of like gymnastics and beautiful to watch.

kung fu stuff all have two objectives I find though, to defend or hurt, not for show. B/C every human has 2 legs/ arms, then the strikes from the opponents come from these areas. Unless there are objects in the area where the oppenent can use as weapons.

Judo stuff (close up stuff is different 2) of using weight distributions have a different philosphy.

Fakes, deceptions of strikes, strengths would probably make a difference when in competition.

Going off topic a little, someone I know asked me (white guy) about Bruce Lee. So I said "who"?

Then he went on and on about Bruce and the "one inch punch". -shock He a legend
