it's cruel in a way, but china dose need to control the birth population. and the thing is China has so much ppl, it's causing proverty. and there's this chinese tradition saying boys are better than guys cause if u have a son, the next generation will follow ur last name and blah blah crap lk that, and ppl in china, when they have a girl they just throw their daughters in lk the streets and orphanage is so gay!!!! therefore the 1 kid policy is not a bad idea! anywayz.... i don't really noe what i said but yeah! haha
I think its a bitter-sweet situation, becuase this is way for China to control over use of their natural resources, but it also takes away an essential freedom. I really can't agree with this law, because it is really aimed at poor citizens who can not afford to pay the cost entitled by another child, while the rich can have as many children as they want, because the cost of another child is so small to them.
I agree with AZN-511; it's a great way to decrease use of resources, but not necessarily taking away from an essential freedom since anyone who has the money to afford another child can have another one. One major downside to this policy is that most families who only have one child dote on them so much that many teens in China these days are spoiled. I don't think education would necessarily affect this policy since it was designed to curb population explosion & use of resources. Can you explain what you mean?
Well, one child policy is THE ONLY WAY things can be kept under control, otherwise half of the country would have starved for quite some time now. Cruel? Perhaps, but survival has never been a joyful experience. However, this really intelligent policy already crept back to haunt the country: in the next 10 years or so, the Chinese demographic will be shifted towards the aged, where the "kids" under the one-child policy will be married, have their kid(s), and will not only have to support their nuclear family (husband+wife+child(s)), but also their parents AND grandparents. Considering that pay is not THAT great in China, and welfare system is non-existent. It is a crisis indeed. Yet I would not have blamed China for imposing the one-child-policy in the first place, since it was not a matter of choice in enforcing this policy.
its a okay idea since the overpopulation is really a big problem in china and people are dying of hunger
its gd 4 the policy 2 wrk in cities, bt as 4 farmin...yea more are needed - even if they are poor 2 look after themselves...2 all ya kids in china...study n wrk hard...get ur phat azz 2 come 2 smewhere more decent like ere in england...n ya won't nd any more probs wit kids ...hav more kids - they wrk - earn more capital 4 the country - ya get rich, the country's rich. Everyone's happy
Although it's a cruel policy, it is unavoidable. To chinese government, over population is a headache topic in terms of national development.
1 child policy = no comments...too much thinkin...too complicated ( me personaly have too much sperm, too much girlfriends, too much sex )

terminate a human being is murder... ur child so love them no mater what they looks like. if ur rich then adopt poor child !!! you have what you wish for.-sorc
to control population. One child per family doesn't seem to be practical. why not those family who have the first child have the benefits given by the government such as free taxes, free education and etc. Where as the second child do no have the benefits plus fine.
I think sometimes it maybe needed inorder to control the the economy. Also if you have a child but don't have enough to feed them, that is kind of cruel in a way.
The one child policy is a way a bit cruel and unreasonable, but it has help china thus far in becoming a world power and almost rivaling the US. There are pros and cons of it, but i see the pros far outweighing the cons.
