I ripped a series fr vcd to upload it to my friend but the problem is its abt 600MB...how do i make it abt half the size? i've changed the ext fr .DAT to .avi. I've googled it but im gettin more confuse.
I dont think you can get much compression off video files, youll save a bit but not much, no way to 50% files that can be compressed a lot are things like text files
By "changed" I assumed you just renamed the orignal dat file to avi thats probably why its that big (~600mb/cd yeah ??) have you actually tried converting it from dat to avi (xvid or divx), the smallest format is rmvb
i renamed the extension...but the original dat file is 600mb...how do i convert it using xvid or divx? most of the converters are shareware. it would but i would still need to upload the same amount
You get a 15 day trial of "Divx Converter" when you download the free divx package: http://www.divx.com/divx/windows/ that should be more than enough time to convert your video into divx and yes you can also obtain the full version illegally as well -nono , but that is a totally different story.
use hjslit, i learn it from sites i go to its pretty good, you don't have to install anything! google hjslit, if i remember correctly its a website called freebyte...4got tha rest
Convert to rmvb format using winavi. When I converted rmvb to vob it is about 7 times larger, I guess converting vob to rmvb should be the same ie 7 times smaller.
Converted "Heavenly IN Laws" rmvb (140mb) to CDV (420mb) using WinAVI. You could reduce the size by a 3rd by using rmvb format.
thats cause VOB is DVD format, so it will increase the size of the file You can always convert to formats such as AVI/rmvb/etc and get a smaller file size, however you sacrifice quality, resolution, etc Prob just need to mess around with a converter to get use to it and find a setting you like
