Tuesday January 9, 2006 Hong Kong Joey Yung's Ballet Outfit Blasted by Angry Netizens Joey Yung’s ballet outfit at the Chik Chak Awards has been said to have been copied from the Viktor & Rolf 07 Spring Summer Collection. Angry netizens have deemed the singer as not respecting copyright. The angry netizens have also taken action against Joey Yung by filing to complaints to the broad administrative bureau. A total of 50 complaints were received by the department yesterday. A spokesperson for the department disclosed that 50 complaints regarding a singer, whose comments offended the intellectual property rights (知識產權), were received. This issue has been discussed on many forums. One netizen commented, ‘Next time be smarter when copying. Don’t copy the whole thing.’ Many also said that the singer did not respect the designer of the original outfit.

Ummm...I don't really understand why people are so upset. She's a musician--a singer. She copied someone else's dress...it isn't good for her reputation, but it's not like she copied someone's song or something like that. Take a step back: it's a dress for one function.

i dont think joeys at fault...i think her stylist picks the outfits.. so basically it's her stylist fault ... i dont agree with it's just a "dress" it's someones creation and originally...and her team dissrespected it by copying the dress..then again new idea's spring from somewhere ;/ i thought the dress was pretty cute ;]
well if she did copy and didnt get permission then theyve got a case, i wouldnt like other people copying my work and not giving me any acknowledgement
i mean her stylist is smart enough to get an original one, it's not that she can't afford it...learn from mistake is smart, to manage error is professional...

The stylist should get fired for making her wear that stupid outfit. And to think, she copied it from another designer. How stupid is that?
