    Goddamnit. Miss one day of school n so much damn work to make up! grrr dskljhsdaklgj. neways, I saw another homework thread in the forum but it's so old so I just made a new one. Hope that's ok with you mods. ;] Don't know why I bothered cuz u guys r prob. just as lazy as me -_-

    But whatever. Worth to give a shot..I freaking hate math with a passion..

    Problem:
    Consider the projectile function h(t) = -16t^2 + 144t + 320 (h=height in ft. from ground and t=time in seconds).

    a. Calculate the height of the projectile at t=3 seconds (er..u just plug 3 in for t n solve right? if yea, then u dont have to answer this)
    b. Determine when the projectile will reach its maximum height. What is the maximum height?
    c. How long until the projectile reaches the ground?

    ugh wtf. -___-

    a. you're right.
    b. -16 t^2 + 144 t + 320 = 644 - (4t-18)^2 <= 644.
    -> h max = 644 at t = 18/4 = 4.5 s.
    c. the object reaches the ground when h(t) = 0.
    that is: -16 t^2 + 144t + 320 = 0
    <=> t = ???

    -cool

    guess we got the smart one here... always hated math haha

  6. This looks like fundamental physics (really beginning physics)... rather than math.

    Yes, that question does not seem like a maths question to me, more like a physics question based on the amount of algebraic manoeuvering involved.
    I actually... er... like projectile motion questions [IMG]

    nerds, play nice now.

  11. Nah, if it were a physics question you'd start off with the speed and angle of the projection at launch and have to account for 9.8 m/s^2 negative vertical acceleration from gravity.

    Oh really? Cause I'm not the one who just said "I like projectile motion questions".

    Anyway, go do your physics hw and stop flirting with me through aim.

    Really? I thought the first problem is more Phys. based... projectile in applied Maths is much harder, with those differentiation and integration things. Or maybe I'm just hallucinating [IMG]
    Who wouldn't with another 20 page essay due tomorrow? [IMG]

    Unlike some, I don't need to make up lies of people attempting to flirt with me. [IMG]

    Read my post carefully.. I don't want aunties, but I can't prevent an auntie from falling for me. Can't help it, my charm. -cool

    Speaking arrogance too much, but nevertheless, what I wrote above was true.. ;)

    You told me you went to a co-ed school.

    Charm? [IMG]

    Sometimes, I think you lie when you say that Net is the only one deprived of girls in his life. It's okay though... I understand the need for reassurance [IMG]

    lol, just because you've dated before, doesn't mean you're any more secure about yourself than someone who has never dated.

    No, thank you. I'm still young and far from desperate. [IMG]

    Actually, I'm now having a maths problem of my own, so any help would be greatly appreciated:

    It's on the area of COMPLEX NUMBERS:

    Find the roots of z^6+1=0 and hence resolve z^6+1 into real quadratic factors and deduce that
    cos 3A = 4(cos A - cos 30)(cos A - cos 90)(cos A - cos 150)

    Thanks in advance.
