I agree with what had been posted previously. The majority of the singers in HK, can barely carry a tune, and especially the newer people and people that have changed course, like acting/modelling to singing -noclue ... most of them can't even sing in key on stage live -shock There are exception of course and the singers that can have already been mentioned, Janice and Justin from the newer breed of singer, and of course you can't beat the older batch, like Hacken, Jackie, Joey, Sammi etc I find the standard are much lower than other countries to be honest. People in the UK would know what I am talking about, but most groups, singers sing live on show over here, like TOTPs and whatever shows there are.
I agreed. In addition to this, there are only some NEW singers that sing well e.g. Justin and Sun Boyz. I think the CURRENT Taiwanese singers are better than the CURRENT H.K. singers. Anyone else think so? -cool
in my opinion, the year justin & janice won the best new female & male singers.. that was the year when the HK music industry started to improve. before that, it felt like any random person can be a singer regardless whether they were good or not, they were still able to release albums. so i would say it's getting better now.. nonetheless, hk artists can sing! especially artists from the older generations like jacky cheung~ xD
I know nothing about singers in HK. I am guessing that all artists can sing if they earn money, is it the case that the better ones emigrate and become non HK citizen and live abroad?!
Do You Think Hong Kong Artist Can Sing? haahha, of course hk singers can sing...it is just a matter of your taste....some ppl. think this artist sings really good, others dont....so it really depends on ur taste...as for me, i think they can except for some tvb artists...i just dont like the idea tvb artists want to become singers and releasing albums...ron, bosco, ray, myolie, linda...etc.....why cant they just stick with the series
Agreed, the best day would be the day TVB Music went bankrupted so that we don't have to put up with their stuff. I think the newer singers are sold based on their image rather than how well they sing. Take for example Fiona; she mumbles in her cd but she's still cute to look at.
Best example would be Edison!!! For God's sake, stop him from singing and rapping! His acting is horrendous too.
That is not true about most of the singers in HK, but there are some whom the producers promote for looks.
ummm like 90% of hk singers r shit...like 2% are good 8% are avg...eason chan is good not me but he good edison, nic tse and twins are bottom of the barrell
Of course, minority of them can. Yes I did say minority. Shame really, but it's a fact. I have quite a few albums on my playlist but their playcount is 0 - simply because a lot of them are so crap. Even though I'm Cantonese myself, the majority of the stuff I listen to is Taiwanese/Mandarin composed songs.
We can't say none of them sing, because there is al ot of talent in the music industry. But some singers, like the TVB-Music singers, they may have a good enough voice for theme or subtheme songs but they don't have a extraspecial voice or anything
i agree..not a lot of the hk singers can sing now..and ppl who were used to be an actor suddenly turned out to be singer..like if they can really sing then i'm ok with it..but the thing is they can't sing at all..
Some Hk singers can sing like the older ones but yeah the newbies are okay. I can't way that they are great singers but some can sing.
