ok, so maybe I may have more stories since I'm basically a twenty minute drive from the Microsoft Headquarters, and everything is flooded in MS stuff around here but i was just wondering if and when people are going to get Vista and Office 2007 how are they going to do it? the reasons I ask is becuase I have one friend in the US military who was talking to me and telling me that he was going to just buy the most basic versino RIGHT OFF THE SHEFF, so paying full price for it. I dunno, it just hit me in the head, because I hadn't heard of anyone who paid full price for it yet. ok so i can share some interesting stories of how many of the people around here get their copies 1) They work at MS therefore they use their MS pretty much as their home machine too, so they get vista automatically 2) they have friends that work for MS, therefore they can pretty much get the employee discount and only pay 30% of the retail price 3) Testers, lots of people are testers of vista, because often vista is sent out to certain partner companies to allow there exployees to use it, as beta testers 4) office was downloadable in beta form for a long time for beta testing, so some people will prpobebly just keep there copies of that 5) there is always sharing copies as long as you dont register 6) I know that alot of universitys are part of the MS MSDN program, which passes out their products to students who are in the related field for either really cheap or actually free. It's quite a cleaverr marketing, cause it gets the students use to MS products, and later on in life at their new work or at home, they will continue to want to use MS products. I mean when i was school the Computer Engineer students got ALL of the MS coding software, and copies of professional XP, the business students all got professional XP and fulll copies of the whole MS office suite 7) My personal story is: My company purchases this company partner program, which basically mean it is a packaged deal set for all MS software for a lower overall cost. Unfortunatly most people in our office dont make use of it, and we have way to many extra lisences. Therefore I have as many as i want to put on all my home computers too. they even send us copies of all there beta software rather cool so i was wondering how many people will actually purchase vista and office 2007 and how many people will
wont be upgrading to vista until the fist sp is out on it and well into maybe 6months or so of it being out...same thing with office....
Lol, my friend got a leaked version of vista about 1-2 months ago. It worked great, the only problems (which were small ones) were that he couldn't use the printer, the clock wasn't synced with the military time and a few other annoying things.
it supposedly better with the bug factor compared to vista....ran it for a bit and like it..will be making the switch soon to it...
lol uff the torrents.. I need some ddl man.. -lol. Plus there's too many.. who knows which one is actually "Legit"
Actually I am thinking ask a friend of mine in the US to send me a copy once he get his. I think in a way, this version just make the windows visually looking better. Thats abt it.
I know alot of PA members have bootleg copies of XP and Office. My question is how do you know these copies you dl doesn't have any Virus in them. How can you run you antivirus protection when your OS is a bootleg? Aren't you concern with the risks?
there is pretty much no way to tell if a trojan is buried in a bootleg copy...so u rip from torrents..u take a risk....
