Sorry, but i've been trying to figure this one out for a long time

i'm pretty good at eating a dish and figuring out what is in it and how they made it

but when it comes to coke chicken
    i've had some weird experiments

i also haven't found it any of mine or my mothers chinese cook books

and everytime i look online (since i dont know chinese)
i keep finding this southern USA recipe which includes ketchup
so i know something is wrong there

anywone know how to make it?
i would greatly appreciate a recipe if you have one

Do you mean those coke wings?
Boil about 2-3 cans of coke, add a bit of salt, just a pinch or two, put in unseasoned (but washed and dried) wings when boiling on high heat, and lower heat to med-hi. Cook until wings are done...
That's my way to making it, but you'll have to do some trial and error to make it perfect to your taste. good luck~

I found these while searching on google. I may try it when I have free time.

    CHICKEN AND COKE

    1 chicken, cut up
    1 coke
    1 tsp. salt
    1 pkg. Italian dressing mix

Put chicken in casserole dish. Mix salt, coke and dressing mix. Pour over chicken and marinate in refrigerator overnight. Bake 350 degrees for 1 hour. Turn and bake 45 minutes more.

    CHICKEN COKE-COLA

4 to 6 pieces chicken filets
    1 pkg. scallions
    2 garlic cloves
    1/2 tsp. thyme
    3 tbsp. oil (olive oil)
    1 oz. Coke-Cola

Season the chicken with salt, garlic and scallions. Leave it in refrigerator overnight. Next day, put the oil in the pan and heat it until the oil is hot. Put the chicken in the pan. When it's brownish on one side turn it to the other side. Then throw in the garlic and scallions and sprinkle the thyme over the chicken. When it is brownish on that side then pour the Coke-Cola over the chicken and keep the flame high until the coke is evaporated.
Pierce each piece of chicken with the fork. Press it and move it around the pan in order to absorb the sugar. Cover the pan and leave it covered for 5-8 minutes after you turn off the stove. Larger pieces may need 2 or 3 more minutes of cooking. To be served over pasta or rice.

    Thanks for the recipe, but

Is this like every other recipe where they only tell you small information ??

Cooking chicken seems easy though, so maybe I should attempt this when I have a spare chicken..

    another recipe

hello Smallrinilady, are you cooking this one for your boyfriend? Good luck -chef -blush2 -kiss1

    わたしが今 ここで生きてる 答えかもしれない

First all the Kanji which I found on the net:-

Note that the translation is not exact as I have no time to type the chinese and I have adapted the recipe for better health.

    Ingredients:

Chicken wings (or chopped up fresh chicken into small pieces but adjust the following quantites and the amount of coke).
A can of coke cola (don't use diet coke which has artificial sweeteners which some people are allergic to and it will taste strange with the cooking) Careful when you use cola cola as it is very acidic so only use in stainless steel or glass sauce pan. Otherwise the coke cola will clean out all the stains and marks/rust from saucepans which has not been cleaned thoroughly and you end up eating the dissolved dirt. This is particularly true for those people who use steel wok. Avoid using aluminium saucepan too. Of course you have no problem with dirt if you use a teflon wok or saucepan.
Marinate sauce is made from light soy: half a soup ladle, (sea) salt - half a tea spoon which is suitable for 12 chicken wings. If you like sweetness, add brown sugar or honey to taste. Careful with the salt and use soy sauce that has the least salt (such as Japanese soy). The less salty the soy is the more soy that you can use to give flavour as you can always add more soy and salt later on when you are eating.

Avoid using frozen chicken if you can.

    Cooking method:-

    1. Put chopped up chicken (wings)
    into marinate for 5 - 10 mins
    2. Heat 3 soup ladle of oil
    in saucepan
    3. Fry chicken till golden
    4. Pour coke cola into wok and bring to boil
    5. Turn off gas (electric)
    6. Put saucepan lid on and simmer for 30 mins
    7. Put on plate and serve with garnish

    Side seasoning:-

If you like coke with lemon, then now is the time to squeeze some lemon or lime juice (lime is better). You can also use your favourite sauce dip now too.

In winter time, if you have a cold, eat the coke chicken with warm coke cola with honey and lemon! I attach a picture I found on the net with the above recipe as I cannot cook a disk right now to show you!

Don't use frozen chicken as it will gives out lots of water, use only fresh chicken.-chef Also chicken wing has a lot of fat (from the skin) so the oil after baking will separate out from the coke. Better result is achieved by using chicken pieces or , as we do, use scissors to trim off 80% of the chicken wing skin.
