I am just curious as to whether all you techies would prefer owning an Xbox360 or a PS3. I have been debating whether to buy a new console and iv been weighing the pros and cons of each of the new systems. I've ruled out the Wii cuz im not a major party gamer and i prefer nice solo adventure, rpg or racing games. Price is obviously a factor and its kind of pointing me away from a PS3 which is like 700 dollars + atleast one 60 dollar game and a $80 HDMI cord for my TV >.< . 500 dollars for an Xbox seems significantly more reasonable and there are some pretty impressive games for the system already, whereas the PS3 really only has one or two. The major thing is the Bluray capabilities of the PS3 and the fact i own a 1080p capable TV that would work awesome with high definition video. Of course i could buy the HD-DVD drive for the Xbox360, but that is 200 dollars right there and brings the total cost up to the same as a PS3. What are your opinions? (hahaha there was a fair bit of math involved here )
Don't buy the PS3 untill they fixed everything. They have been recalling all the system. All the games are frezzing and the backward capibility is not working liek it should. I'm in the same postion as u. I want to buy a new system but i hate the Xbox controler, even if it got smaller. my opion is to wait for the PS3 and then buy it when everyhitng is fixed.
lol modding, that would be expensive anyway, cuz to burn games id need a bluray writer drive, and im sure the discs are like 10 bucks each too. far more convenient just to buy games. hahaha and i already have a PC as u can tell by the fact im on this forum, but my GPU is terrible and a good graphics card costs anywhere from 200-650 dollars, id rather have a game system.
and if you think it doesn't have the right games i will tell you this, lots of girls will love to play the wii sooooo, this of it as a different kind of invenstment, and it's much cheaper than those other two consoles
Probably a PS3 cause the controller is well constructed & easy to handle while gaming. Thats why I perfer this instead of XBOX...
lol a wii is good for funny pick up lines i suppose... "hey, you wanna come over and play with my wii?" or "hey, you wanna go do something? all iv done is play with my wii all day"
atm xbox 360 as its got some good games (Gears of War etc), plus ps3's got problems until ps3 price comes down and they show off some worthy games, it cant touch the xbox 360. The only thing ps3s got going for it is its bluray player
What problems are you guys talking about? The only one that I can truly think about that the OP doesn't need to worry about is the 1080i scaling. PS2 games look fine with the recent update for those using HDMI, was fine before when ran through component. I also haven't heard of any recall, I believe your talking about the in store displays which are confined in tight spaces and buggy software at the start. I personally own both consoles, both brought on launch. One of the key things that the 360 does best is Live, multiplayer and features like chat are on pretty much every game. PS3 is going to have (alot) better line up of rpg games (White Knight) than the 360. Besides first party games from each company, most games are headed towards both platform. Large lineup of games coming out in March Xbox 360:Multiplayer, online games/features (Halo3) Playstation 3: Little bit of everything...not the best at one thing, but does everything. (MGS4,FF13,DMC4) If it sounds like im a fan boy, im not. I enjoy both systems. Online games with friends through Live and ps3 for movies and etc. About the price, is it me or do people complain too much on the prices...look at the Video Ipod, etc...Try to own device before you complain. Monoprice.com has HDMI cables for really cheap, in case you get a 360, black versions coming out
if u dont want to waste 60 bux for games get the 360 and use the hard drive mod thingy i hear people downloadin mad games. i dunno bout mod scene but its possible. ps3 is not modded yet. The ps3 has no rumble/vibrate btw.
i'm lookin to pull down a 360 over the summer also....sony is just too damn overrated....among other things....
Its make it up in the motion sensor To be honest, if your more into solo gaming than go PS3, multiplayer is where the 360 is. If you do decide to mod the 360, theres a chances that you won't be able to uses the Live services. You can install Linux on the PS3 and play ISO files from the system... Don't let others decide for you, sit down and create a list of the features/stuff you want. You could always buy it when more games come out, price drop..., etc? Good luck
i've played the ps3.. but im not impressed too much. the games they have arent that great. xbox 360 looks like there are better games for now. but i prefer the nintendo wii because there is more interaction within the game.
