i dunno, the issue of flowers was something interesting

    last year.
my friend yelled at her bf for several hours because he refused to get flowers for her for valentimes
i mean he got her everything else, chocolates, a little gift
and he drove up two hours to see her
(he doesn't have alot of money)
so he didn't want to get her flowers because they just die

    i dunno i kinda agree
i'm a girl, i like flowers and all
but i guess i rather get a gift that will last longer than a week (unless it's food related like chocolates, or ICECREAM)
like stuff animals (but i have to many, so no) or jewlery or something special like a photo frame with a memory in it that i can put up and brag about

the guy i like has a similar view on flowers, such a waste, cause they just die
so instead for my birthday he got me an ice cream scoop (since i moved into a new place, besides having dinner with me) and he buys me ice cream every so often (not for birthday or christmas)

    anyways so the question i

GIRLS: what is your view on recieving flowers? a must? or a waste of money? or in between

i would say i still enjoy flowers on rare occasions, but maybe on random nights as a suprise, instead of specialize holidays where they are expected

BOYS: what if your view on buying flowers for your girl

    lastly
BOYS AND GIRLS: what are your views on girls buying flowers for the guy?

well thats all nice..but what did she give in return? Or is valentine a one sided thing? And if he did give her flowers...then she should give him her flower too? just kidding, bad joke, but seriously wtf? if it makes her THAT happy...just draw some or snip it from her neighbors. or better yet give her seeds so she can toil over them instead of expect them.

  17. ^ Grow ur own -lol-clapclap
    Buy her plastic ones :p

Flowers ? no flowers ... they have an old saying : FLOWERS CAN't LAST LONG .. IF U Give The One U love Flower, then .. ur relationship also can't LASt LOng .... like the flowers ...

agree ? hehehee... i agree ( Save Me time for Choosing Flowers and Then have to throw them away when they DIE... )

  19. you know what, when i was a little kid, before all this global warming crap, i used to pick up a whole bunch of wild flowers (like the yellow weed or like the purple kind) and gave it to the girl i liked ;)

see, its free, and has sentimental values. no need to buy expensive flowers

i say roses are over-rated. if i had to buy, id buy a whole bouquet of different kinds of flowers and bright colors.. not a bouquet of red roses...

I think the tradition of giving flowers on V-day is much more a commerialized thing nowadays.

smallrinilady - thanks for bringing up about your friend's reactions to not getting flowers. That relationship btw your friend and her b/f must not be strong. Or else a) he probably would've known how important flowers meant to her and b) he would've known how sensitive she is.

Your friend in my description so far is that of a prune. The gifts that a person give during this particular day is from the heart. It's not supposed to be superficial. She showed her true colours by even revealing such personal events to her friends. I don't suppose this couple is spending many more V-days together. If they are, I really pity the guy.

I know many people here have commented that flowers just die. There are different ways of looking at that subject. You can say that when the flowers die off is that a chapter of your lives have ended and a new one is starting. I think it's all due to individual interpretation.

... they have an old saying : FLOWERS CAN't LAST LONG .. IF U Give The One U love Flower, then .. ur relationship also can't LASt LOng .... like the flowers ...
(I personally don't belive sayings like this.)

Using the above saying and twisting it like that....would it also signal that IF U Give the one you love some fake flowers, then your relationship is fake as well?
