Benz's popularity also stirred interest in other veteran supporting actors. At Uwants forums, netizens voted in a poll entitled, "Best Veteran Supporting Actor." This poll has generated much excitement and more than several thousand people have voted for their favorites among a list of 26 veteran actors. Benz Hui currently tops the list with 1,137 votes, while Wayne Lai Yiu Cheung is in the second spot with 1,015 votes! Perhaps Benz's character was extremely memorable in "Dicey Business" and the recent re-broadcast of "To Get Unstuck in Time" 《 隔 世 追 兇 》only increased his popularity. His comedic and lively performances have secured Benz in the top spot in this online poll. At the second spot, Wayne Lai has always been convincing in serious and comedic roles. With 800 votes in third place ,Liu Kai Chi has not been forgotten by audiences although he has not filmed any recent TV series. good to see Benz get some sort of recognition for his hard work...he's been a consistent actor for years in both series and film, and Wayne was funny as the pig in first journey to the west with Dicky Cheung...it's too bad they will be stuck as that "supporting role" actor for the rest of their careers but they are the best at it.
I also like Evergreen Mak.. he was great in LWOLAP.. But I prefer Wayne any day.. he was great in Safe Guards..
I'm glad people recognize their talent. I love these 2 actors, more than a lot of the new actors and actresses TVB has come out with the last couple of years. I loved Benz in Dicey and especially in Unstuck (I think he deserves an award for that one). I still think Wayne is lead material, esp. for comedies, but TVB don't seem to agree.
Yep, Wayne will be the eternal supporting role actor. Even in "My Name is Fame", he is playing a supporting actor Where as Sean is taking the male rol and price ... like in real life
