Sammi getting ready for her concert!

After a 3 year absence from the concert scene and a year-long hiatus from the entertainment industry, Sammi is now ready for a 4 show run at the Hong Kong Coliseum. Rumours have been swirling that East Asia has been angry over Sammi's long break, and had signed Sammi's rival Miriam Yeung to the company. But at yesterday's press conference, East Asia chose a 6 star hotel (the Four Seasons) to hold the event, and East Asia's boss Peter Lam personally attended the event to quell the rumours.

This concert is being sponsored by a jewellery shop, so Sammi attended the press conference in black and white jewllery, which is the theme of this season's fashion accesories. The host of the event bungled his words when describing Sammi as the leader of fashion trends, and Sammi couldn't help but cover her mouth and laugh at his mistake. The entire set that Sammi wore yesterday included 2 diamond necklaces, a brooch, a pair of earrings, 3 rings and a bangle. Sammi flirtatiously laughed and asked if the jewellery was expensive, because if it wasn't she wouldn't wear it! During the event, the host asked Sammi which song she felt she had to sing during the concert, and her choice was <Forever Beauty>, explaining, "Because the song describes me best, I'm always so beautiful!" At the celebratory toast ceremony, they used Pepsi in place of champagne, and Sammi helped her boss on to the stage. When asked who she would invite to the concert, she laughed and pointed to her boss, saying, "Of course the boss, and his brother. Probably my colleagues from my previous record company."

After the press conference, Sammi met with reporters, who asked her about her physical condition. Sammi told them that she was in excellent shape, and that she was now training up for the concert because she hoped to do more dancing during the concert. At the moment, her training schedule is very tight, and she has begun doing weights work, in the hope that she will develop some muscles to show off during the concert. Concurrently, she continues jogging every day. She frankly told reporters that she felt that at her past concerts, she had been too thin, like a reed in fact, and so for this concert, she would take some sports drinks before beginning on her regime.

As to the clothes she would wear, Sammi said, "It depends on how much muscles I develop. If they look good, then I'll expose more, if not I'll just cover myself up." When asked about whether she would add more shows, Sammi said, "At the beginning I only wanted to have 3 shows, but the boss told me that they couldn't make money out of just 3 shows, so we increased it to 4! I didn't expect the response to be so good, so now we're still thinking about adding shows, it'll depend on how I feel."

On the issue of guests in her concert, she had this to say, "The boss will never think that there are too many guests, the best scenario would be to have 7 guests a show! Obviously the boss wants everyone to be very happy, but it'll depend on the rundown of the concert." She was then asked about inviting Miriam Yeung and Denise Ho to the concert, and her response was, "There's nothing to it, according to what I've heard, they'll all come and see the show. I just had dinner with Hocc the other day, she said that she would come and support me. As for Miriam, actually we've sung together once, but it's just that you guys have forgotten about it!" The reporters then told Sammi that that situation was different since the rumours about them being on bad terms was not in play, but Sammi laughed it off, saying, "That all depends on you right? If you keep hammering on it, then it'll be a hot topic!" Still harping on the topic of guests, reporters asked Sammi if her ex-flame Andy Hui would attend, and Sammi said, "He'll definitely attend, unless he's not in Hong Kong. (Would they duet?) Wow then the audience will really have made their money back! There'll be so many things for them to see, it'll be like an East Asia gathering on stage! Actually to be honest, I haven't really thought about the guest list yet, but I know if I do ask they will all be willing to help."

Curious to find out about what Sammi felt about the newest Chief Executive of the SAR, Sammi said, "Wow politics! I did see the news before coming out, it was an expected result. Both candidates were well qualified, if they were able to stand on that stage, they should all have certain abilities." As to what she hoped for the new administration, she said, "Lower taxes! I know that they reduced taxes just recently, but it wouldn't hurt to lower them further! Actually recently the government started banning smoking in certain areas, and originally I was very upset about this. But in reality, it has helped me kick my smoking habit, so I have really benefitted from this. At the same time, I hope the government will focus on environmental issues, and increase awareness in this area." When asked if it was a difficult process quitting smoking, Sammi said, "When they started banning, I stopped smoking. Actually it was nothing, but I do find that my skin has improved!"
