I'm thinking of getting a new yonex racquet but i got NOO idea whats good~~
I prefer one for smashing rather than sensitive play, any1 got any ideas?
I heard that many top players once used the armotec 800 series but i play more singles than double matches-unsure

Armotec 700 is good. I use carbonex-20 as well. strung to 20-22 lbs.

the racket makes a difference so it is important. I remember I was using the carbonex and used a different racquet instead, it just sucked. too heavy and stuff.

    O. just a note. If you play doubles, make sure your partner is about your calibre so they don;t whack ur raquect. If they are weak, then use a cheaper one.

    have fun

armotec 700 doesnt seem to be around here much~~ whats the main difference between the armotec, muscle power and nanospeed? I use the MP 23 now and it seems kinda heavy O_O

Owh and on a totally different note, i saw someone smash up their MP99 today, its like $200 rite lol

Yonex is probably the best world wide. Black Knight is also a popular brand and also endorse players.

I think the higher end raquects are about the same, but the grip size, string tension makes a difference after that. I use medium grip size so it is more flexible and hold the raquet higher in the shaft.

From a medium grip, u can build a bigger one by buying tape to wrap around the handle so it don;t wear out.

Aha thx for the ideas, but one thing is, there is absolutely nowhere to go to string a racquet here O_O, I can only find complete standardised ones in random shops~~ must I fly to asia to buy one^^

dun sound right. They usually have places that do that. O yea. the type of strings makes a difference 2, some strings become braded after a game. I would pick brand name strings...

Hmm i guess its not too much of a popular sport here so there are much fewer places to string racquets. Ahhh Ive done some research:

Muscle Power is a technology that reduces friction as u swing so produces that lil bit more speed, and its not only avaliable in the MP series.

nano speed is simply a new way of compacting atoms making it that bit stronger without making it any heaver. This to me aint much use as i aint gona go around trashing my racquet anyways and its only avaliable in the NS series, nevertheless the newest and most expensive Yonex set out to date.

Armortec is the new rounded joint between the handel and the 'stem' (sry i dunno what u call it) which enables it to suit more gripping styles.

Isometric is the shape of the head that allows the strings to have more even spacings so that a hit near the edge of the head is still as effective as one at the centre.

Taking all these factors into consideration, NS 7000, 8000 and 9000 have almost all of these incorporated into them; which makes them quite heavy -_- at around 90g.

I think I'll go for the Armotec 800 OF as its so unique in its ability to produce better smashes. The AR 700 and 500 are also appealing as I prob dun have so much to spend^^

Don't know the prices. I got mine through a friend in HK...came to 150-160 canadian. He bought it over so no duty/taxes.

My all time favourite is still carbonex for the longest time. I can feel the "bend" of the raquet when I do a full jumping smash for the "kill". Off speed smashes don;t feel as good though but sets up for the kill.

Meng, my arm is itchin to play again...

yea. it is old tech but still good.

I used to play in college team; and we had to do drills. e.g. cover the court in max 6 steps from front to back.

    very fun. !!!
