    No no out

No the PS3 is pioneering without enough support cos its the first of its kind, so it will only get more popular with time, 2 years later will not make it out of date yet mate-unsure .

Hi-def player qualities will get better like with the PS2-rolleyes . So is it really worth using PS3 all in one, it surely isn't multi-regional, still yeah for budget capers? But if you're after quality then its another thing.

Tempted but not giving in. My wallet is rumbling.

^ you never know how fast technology will move on, hard to say what will be there in 2 years, although since sony want to make money on this thing, it will be best that they dont release anything new soon.

2 years later could make it out of date if blu-ray doesnt make it -lol

Hmmm to be honest, I dont see anything attractive in consoles anymore, much rather spend my money on laptops, phones and erm....laptops^^

But with the stuff inside a PS3, I guess they had to make it that price O_O

in term of price, I really think is depending where u going to get t from, a colleague of mine got his PS3 (it only play region 1 stuff) from HK around AUS$600.. co convert to pounds is around 250 - 300 pounds?? in Australia is around AUS$997.

Technology does move very quickly... you have to think if you are an early adopter or one who always left behind... (and there is nothing wrong with that)

  6. theres nothing wrong being a laggard? lol laggards today are still impressed by the vcr.. lol (exaggeration of course ;))

Sony for the Ps3 is doing some bad marketing, tehy giving giving out all there awesome titles that could push the system on the top like devil may cry 4 and MGS4 but now are rumored and some are even confirmed to come out on the 360. WTH is that and Saints Row is being ported to the Ps3. Saints Row is a good game but its a old game so to speak. Man i think sony needs a plan if they wanna win.

If you've watch TV in the US, notice lots of comercials advertising DVD's also have a Blu-Ray counterpart? I saw only a few HD DVD comercials. And what are you saying, Dragon D; please google it before you state your comments, the Xbox 360 has been losing over 100$ per console, the PS3 - over 200$ per console. Nintendo however never builds their consoles out of losing profit, they always build their consoles and devices in the profit area thats why they had to release the Gameboy Micro, to boost some revenue.

You've got the pricing wrong when it comes to the PS3 it costs 425 in the UK and it has a blu-ray player if you were to buy a 360 and the addons for it you'll be paying virtually the same price heck you'll be paying more

C'mon when Sony first launch PS2, its pricey and yet still sells like hot cake. I assume it will be the same with PS3. The competition start only when the economic of scale kicks in.

Their never going to multi region a dvd player.....never....from a corporate stand point cuz they would lose money from the both markets

but wat sony did for the PS3 was multiregion its system to play import games....so if you bought a japan one u can play the american games and if you bought the american system you can play the japanese games....for once sony did something correct and let us play all the games we can get to...however this does not apply to ps2 games just ps3 games

i think the lost is during their first year of manufactoring after the system has been in cycle for a year or 2 they begin to turn a profit on it because they have improved manufacturing process and wat nots...so it is true that in the end the companies begin making money on each console sold

    PS3 as a console = overprice.
But with the combination of everything else.....I personally think it's worth it.
Of course....I'm going to very unhappy when the price drops in a year. But when GT-HD comes out.....I'll be sooooo happy. For those of you who haven't seen the demo...go check it out on a 1080p TV. It's beautiful. Gameplay is tough too.

Personally, the best console I've had is the XBOX (not the 360). Played Halo on it. The modded it. Now it's my own personal Media Center....streaming all the shows from my computer over to the TV. With remote control.....it's an all in one!

I'm just waiting for a OpenSource MediaStreamer like XBMC to work on the PS3. Once that works on a PS3, I'm keeping the XBOX in my bedroom and using the PS3 as my Media Center.

Hold on! Please kindly give a chance to Sony to unleash all true powers on PS3 later! Yes, Sony did a bad job when starting to launch PS3 worldwide. This doesn;t really mean Sony is damn condemned forever. There is a saying "Failure is the mother's success." Moreover, the rumor is that Sony will cut other US$100 in around Oct 07. Doesn't it sound a good deal? Hehe. ;) Ironically, I don;t own PS3 yet but PS2 & PSP. Perhaps I need to wait for the PS3 game libraries to grow better and there will be some reasons to own PS3 set then. I gotta -sleep
