I'm a Chinese myself and theres pretty much nothing good to watch except Drama and maybe some Action. The Action usually consists of the same ol' story and same type of action. The Drama movies are getting too repetitive because its like always the same type of ending and pretty much almost the same with different characters and all that stuff. I'd still prefer Chinese/Asian Drama over American drama though.
But why can't the mainstream try taking different directions like racing movies or something new? Its like theres no more innovation left in HK/Chinese movies. Sorry if I offended you; just my opinion

I agree, lately, I've lost almost in Chinese Movies (the ones now). I'm going back and re-watching some Stephen Chow.

Also, sometimes in Chinese "Ancient/Ye Oldern Times" Shows, some people have blonde hair. That makes it a little "Cuah Jiung"(cantonese) or weird. Since when did Chinese people dy their hair blonde in ancient times.

hey.. i totally agree. Among Chinese movies released within these few years, the ones I really like are only a handful. N I think the young generation of chinese actors/ actresses are getting worse.. nth compared to their seniors in the field. Now I prefer watching Korean movies. They have better plots and acting in my opinion.

its not just the chinese drama or movies, i felt the same for movies from anywhere. there cant be infinite plots for movie makers to do so eventually they have to repeat same plots.

  12. time for you to dig up ol' kung fu classics that'll have you saying... daayyymmnn... with their flying in the air acrobatic moves!! *zohm zohm* <--- snake fist... :p lol

or you can rent some american movies... set it to surround sound and hear the loud sound fx for ultimate experience...

You have posted more or less what I wanted to say! I am watching 99% Korean films or drama these days compare to Chinese material. It just nothing I have seen recently is even that appealing and when something does catch your intrest you watch it .. 9 out of 10 times is totally rubbish and a total waste of time. -sleep

There are still plenty of old gems to be found in the hk movie industry. To be honest I don't even watch new movies from hk anymore, they are just so terrible. The latest movies I have watched though are by either Stephen Chow or Wong Kar Wai.
Its a lot more fun searching for older movies but they are getting a lot rarer nowadays...

Yeah you saying thou old movies, we are on about newer stuff. I love Stephen Chow and watch nearly all his films. As for Wong Kar Wai, I dunno his films are a bit strange. I couldn't get pass 5 minutes of 2046 and In The Mood For Love that was mega boring, I nearly fell asleep sitting thru that. His earlier films was ok and wasn't too bad for me thou.

a lot of the chinese movies are extremely repetitive now (cliche-ish), so its easy to kno wuh is goin to happen next and wat the end result is gonna be
