install today's Operating system (Vista) in your yesterday PC will just slow down. So what is the point to waste couple $$ to buy Vista or even get it illegally still not a good choice.

oh yeah vista transformation i got that but did use it

    any good m8?

  7. works fine to me. all it does is adding the vista design files into the system.. but you gotta be careful... since it fools around with your system files, one wrong move and good by to your pc... ive installed it on two pcs already, and no problem.. you can always uninstall it. just be careful when you install it.

otherwise, its just a look lol

EDIT: heres my fake vista desktop + some widgets. (i usually dont put as many widgets like this due to consumption and all... just for this screenshot lol ;) )

oh, and i have a dual screen, so thats why i have 2 shots.

I installed vista on my sister's computer with 512 ram (to test before installing it on my own) and it ran just fine, even with the display settings maxed.

Had a discussion regarding this with one of my mates and we arrived at an agreeable conclusion.

Vista sucks...for me, atleast right now. However I can see the benefits it provides to normal users (which is their target market anyways).

It's not as bloated or resource intensive as people exagerate it to be. Any modern day OS takes up a fair bit of resources to run, regardless if you are running Linux, OSX, or whatever. I realise that it does run higher, but the point I'm making is that it is not overboard rediculous and it actually achieves pretty decent response time considering what it running in the background.

What I hate personally is the continued lack of CLI and poorly implemented (but great ideas) for security. I want to have immediate control. I don't want to have to click through ten different windows just to change one minor setting. Give me a command to type in and do it. However for users it's nice, its not my intention to call people dumb, just that GUI is easier for them. Otherwise everyone would be running Linux right? ;)

I'm interested to see with Microsoft does with the first service pack, as well as Longhorn Server.

Don't know if you've noticed an impact however I found the performance to be much better with Outlook 2003. Seems they still have a few kinks to work out...

The rest of the Office applications seems to work good though.

Haven't had any issues here. Slowness, not really. But i suspect things should get better with updates.
