Does anyone leave their comp on 24/7?

its all about the electric bill..... if you dont get anally raped by them electric bills, you are fucking rich.

 

wow it would seem that im the only one whos kept their computer on for more than a year

 

I only leave it on 24/7 if I'm downloading large files, and even then I reboot when I'm able to. I just feel better that way. -blush

 

my roommates computer is now sooooooo fcked up, that you can't fix it anymore...reason? he left his laptop on 24/7 for almost a year >_> the result? his graphics card and his ram fried

 

ive left mine on for 3 years and i dont have any problems with it. The only problem i have is that the hard drive is so full that i cant fit anymore things in it

WHO TOLD YOU THAT??? I PASSWORD PROTECT ALL MY FILES!! lol jk. Nah its all the animes, games, drama, music and movies that i download. I might buy a external hard drive though

 

i switch on my pc everyday .. just restart it 2 day once to refresh the ram .. most important thing is the ventilation .. my room got air cond and ceiling fan .. so switch on both when i m ard .. if i go out then i will just leave the fan on and switch off the air cond

 

i dont do that cos 1 too expensive bill and am using direct download so its wont be waiting so long.

 

sometimes - depends on what's more important.

 

i usually dont leave my computer on 24/7 because a lot people tells me that it is not good to leave your computer on all the time. it would slow computer down. but the longest time i left my computer on is 3 days.

 

so long as its not running at full load the whole time, it doesn't consume that much energy (assuming u got the efficient psus)

the only downside is just the heat it causes, especially in summer, but winter is good =)

 

l only leave mine on for downloads...
usually switches the comp off when not in use.

i leave them on if im downloading something and cba to wait till finish. So leave it on.

 

my computer has been running 24/7 for the past few months. ever since the conroe e6300's came out. got pretty good air cooling so heat is no problem. leave it on 24/7 so i can use up my unpeak download quota.

 

It ok to do this if u have a desktop. But I have a laptop. I wouldnt recommend leaving it on for more than 3 days. Its not good for the parts.
