Want to use your Monitor as TV??

OK when i bought my PS2 i wanted to play it in my room. But i didnt have a TV so i thought ill get a converter for my monitor cable to plug into my PS2. But instead i found something better. I found the Gadmei TV 5821E XGA TV BOX



This allows my monitor to be transformed into a TV without any softwares. All you do is plug the monitors VGA cable into the box. Then plug in your computer to the box (using the provided cable) and then plug in any other components you want which connects to a yellow,red,white cable. Its very useful and easy to set up. And remember it doesnt need any software to run. Unlike a Internal/External TV card. And its alot cheaper than buying a TV. Around £29



And if you want freeview you can get the Gadmei TV 6808E XGA TV BOX

 

guess its a easy cheap fix option =)

but then its still using vga = quality loss
rca cables = quality loss

compared to wats available these days....
but i think with most ppl, if u hafn't seen the great quality stuff, u won't notice the differnece hehehe

its like i always end up watching stuff on my computer than tv, cos the quality is better on monitor... need to upgrade tv ><

 

i was looking for this.... all over t.o... cheap that is.... but 29 pounds.... thats like 60 bucks.... damn.....

does it come with are remote control? or do you only have the buttons on top? That would suck to change the channels only by decending or acending order.

 

wait... so would I need a high end graphics card to run it?? been looking for something like this... but dunno whats available..

 

since i assume it only needs vga connector, then no real need for high end stuff
as everything now uses atleast dvi connectors

i think personally, if i had a high end comp, i would rather go with tv tuner + connectors to plug in peripheral devices

 

look nice but i looking to connect my dbox to my monitor(Scart to VGA,DVI) cheap one would be great

i would just think of getting a tv tuner card if you wanted to do that

i have one for my laptop
but since i got it in HK, the cables sold in the US aren't the same . . .

I think there is a USB version but you need to install software.

 

it does. i dont have a problem with the software. the only problem i got is money.

thought of getting the converter too .. just wanna buy a lcd monitor using this converter with my dvd player n ps2 .. just to save some space in my room .. good suggestion ..

 

yo... factorydirect is selling this usb external tv tuner box for just 19.99 CAD... brand new... pretty cheap i think..
