Have seen her on Oprah too, and however hard it must be to come out of an accident like this I think a survivor should keep on living IF he/she isn't suffering from agony pain. If I would ever be in this situation I think at first I'll have thoughts about not wanting to live anymore too, but it will cease after a while I guess.

Well cancer patients wouldn't be a really good comparison in this case I don't think because one is disfigured but the other is just unhealthy. Health can be improved but if you are disfigured like the girl it is very hard to go back to the way you used to look. But I agree with your last comment. I guess this is message to all the people out there who complain about their looks even though they are lucky enough not to be disfigured and commit suicide over stupid issues.

yeah, you can say she was meant to live and I think we can all agree that she is someone we should look up to. But honestly i don't think I would have the same will as her. Like someone else said, if that happened to me i would see no purpose in living life. it's hard to be happy when everyone around you treats you like a monster. it's a cruel superficial world we live in afterall.

not only her face, she also lost her fingers.

  14. naw I'm talking about the cancer patiences wit the balding n everything.. you think they're not conscious of their looks??

death is not something i have the power to decide. when death comes for me it would be meant to be. even with something as horrific as this, if i lived thru it then that means something. she is an inspiration for everyone. so everyone that is always complaining about their looks (e.g "i'm too fat" "i'm too skinny" "i'm not pretty/handsome enuf"), look at her and be thankful for the way u look. maybe she was meant to survive to make ppl realize to be thankful for the way they look...

Yea, I know about her through The Oprah Show. I feel really bad for her. She's really tough for going through all these.

^ hmm.. I think thats like running away.. sounds worse than death to me. What I can say is, if that happens, and you choose to live, live it with pride. If you can't walk out of the darkness, you will always be a burden to others. And thats just pathetic.

People with disability + weak mind = ?

ok.. fair.. its easier said than done.. but I personally value character more than looks, even though I agree that looks are important. Somehow, you just have to stand up after you fall. Babies do that all the time.. we seem to forget how to do that as we age..
