We are going to stay at "W83th". It's a bit from town, but I'm a backpacker and poor student as well. so that will do =) You seem to know a lot about NY. How long did you stay there? Wow, thanks! We were just about to rent a car. Hahaaaa, I think I'm gonna cancel all my plans and just stay in Chinatown and eat all the good food =) ********************************************** Hey, I just found the "Thanks-function" =P Thumbs up to you all =)
Um, 9 days only. But I've been there with tour groups before so I didn't visit a single SUPER TOURIS-Y place (Statue of Liberty, Empire State, the late World Trade Centre etc). Tell us about your hostel after you are back PLEASE~ I wanted to see how the other hostels are... for next time I go to NYC 83rd isn't that bad, but if you LIVE in Manhattan, you don't really need a car, IMHO. Plus 9 days is quite a snug fit for just the very Manhattan places.
Seriously don't need a car in Manhattan cause 1. you won't find parking during peak times. 2. the parking lots are expensive. Isn't a hostel where like 20 strangers sleep in bunks in the same room or sumthing? If that's so why not stuff like 4 of your friends in a Motel 6 for a night with twin beds. It comes out to like 25/person/night.
it's a 4 person room... but there was only 2 of us so... even motel's got too expensive (cost twice as much) :(
^ I don't know, but then I don't know much about Canadian tourist spots except the SUPER FAMOUS few... Though I am sure the scenary must be stunning along the prairies
Broadway and Museums Plus it's a fragging CITY, serious. I think I can only survive in the cities with population 5 mil plus and density 5000/km^2 plus. BIG CITIES. And Toronto totally doesn't count.
Lol, then I should move to Toronto once I get my degree. I find NYC to be too noisy, congested, and the air quality is not that great.
yup, then I will adopt the word "aye" and start saluting to the Queen and be friendly to the French.-cool
Lmao, I will first have consult with the suk fuus(godfathers) and start recruiting leungs(lackies) in canada soon.
Then you'll find Toronto has its equal share of noisiness, congestion (oh the traffic) and smog. Really, I wouldn't say I'd rather live in NYC (too expensive anyway), but Toronto isn't some place to write home about.
I guess, but Canada doesn't have the population to make it a real mega city =_=b The population is too diffused and spreaded out. I guess I am a Hong Kong person afterall.
