In the all consuming more cores = more awesomeness battle, Apple Inc. has just stepped it up a notch. 8 cores will give you more power then evar before, faster pr0nz, faster games, faster video encoding... you get the idea -rockon . With this amazing processing power, you will be able to walk around with your head high, laughing at your friends who are stuck running their latest 'Core 2 Duos'. To provide a good analogy: Having 8 cores is like the difference between Scarlett Johanson and a Thai Ladyboy. But enough anticipation, herez some photoz for yall -batman

and a photo of some uncompressedHD video streaming from the setup... looks purty hawt -cool I particularly like the contrasting colours of the orange hat of the black dude vs. the white of the chick's dress

I particularly like the last picture i posted. That HD video looks so real the guy standing there is attempting to slap the black man in the face. Truly high definition.

It's definitely nice, but I guess the next upgrade I have will be into a dual core (which is affordable to me)... Call me when the price (of this 8-core) have a landslide =_=b

I find it's more important to find the sweet spot then go for something rediculously overpriced and new.

yeah, but then you will want the 16-core, and u will need to wait for the 32 core to come out before u can afford that one

yea intel and amd seems to both have the multicore technology. they just have to test them before they release.

Using two "Clovertown" 3.0GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon 5300 series processors, the 8-core Mac Pro comes with 8MB of L2 cache per processor (16MB total), 667MHz DDR2 ECC fully buffered DIMM memory, eight FB-DIMM slots on two memory riser cards (four slots per card) supporting up to 16GB of main memory and 1.33GHz, 64-bit dual independent frontside buses.
