Was it a mere coincidence that Disney's Lion King bear so much resemblance to Kimba The White Lion by Osamu Tezuka? Even the names 'Simba' and 'Kimba' comes so near. Disney's line goes like this 'Our people never heard of Kimba before The Lion King was released'. Animation buffs believe that Disney ripped off Kimba to create The Lion King. Check out the 10 pics of similarities between the two and judge for yourself after the jump. Source: KimbaWLion Look and judge for yourself!!!
wow.. where you find those.. so Kimba came first? ohno.. you just spoilt the image of one of my fav disney movies.. now that I know they are a rip off.. -evil im going to boycott Disney. lol.. nah.. I'll just take that off my list. Any ideas where I can find Kimba?
It's obvious they stole the idea, but admitting it would mean foregoing all profits from the movie, sequels, merchandise, broadway show, etc.
Disney has been using a lot of bullying tactics to get whatever they want so I wouldn't be surprised and they are so big. For example they lobbied copyright laws such that Mickey now is still owned by Disney for like another 20 yrs. before it becomes public owned. They have also stolen various ideas as well. The lion king song was stolen. http://www.usatoday.com/life/people/2004-07-08-lion-king_x.htm
