I do sometimes. I'm sure other guys to as well. Is he Asian? You know lots of Asian guys don't have the nerve to approach a girl, if you're waiting for him to make a move, you could be waiting for a long time. Also subtle hints don't generally work as most guys are oblivious.
I guess Asian guys in NYC is like that? @ elaine, my 2 cents, just wait till he comes around. Build a more solid friendship base first before rushing in.

hey elaine.. DuchSauce is right in a sense.. nowadays, it doesnt really matter who makes the first move. if u think you have a good feeling towards him, u can start talking to him.. cracking jokes with him.. asking him to tag along for lunch.. any small actions like these slowly add up to create a relationship. and i bet he will respond positively as well if he has similar feelings to u... who knows.. after a while he might be the one making the first move~!
