^_^ you could try to as her to teach you chinese, at least you can try to twist that language barrier to your advantage you teach her spanish and she teachs u chinese, doesn't matter if u wana actually learn chinese, but if u do more power to ya
Sorry, to say so, but in your case there are just too many barrieres not in favour of you. The barrieres, to name a few are: - Language - Culture I don't say that you can over come them. But you need to invest lots of time.
I begun study chinese, but i know so little chinese, and sometimes when I speak with she, i help to say some new spanish words . and one time she ask me if i will go to live in chna, and I respond that never i was in china, but this summer i will go to china, and i will know if i like or not china, but if we together and she sure to come back china, of course i wiil go with she too live china

Starting to learn the language is good. But you must not forget the culture. In Asia for instance, no is not always 100% NO, or Yes is not 100% YES.
