I love the sound of German :p Most people find it too harsh and not flowy at all, but I am weird like that... And the fact that it's really logical (almost mathematical) in its grammar rules is a HUGE plus for second language acquisition...

The problem with French is that nobody bothered to explain the reasons behinds the load of "exceptions" to the grammatical rules that it is SO confusing @_@b But if you get a linguist to be your French instructor you are in luck :D

I've heard it being said the other way around... the sound is relatively difficult to master than the grammar @_@b With its "everything works out" grammar rules and all.. :p

Oh I am chill, just like the sound of that sentence is all ^+++^

I keep my languages separate. When I speak English, I think in English. When I speak Spanish, I think in Spanish. When I speak Cantonese I think in Cantonese. However when I speak Mandarin, I think of what it is I want to say in Cantonese first and then translate, so there's usually a slight pause. I think it's because some words are similar between Cantonese & Mandarin so I always default back to my native tongue. However English & Spanish are so different from Chinese that I dont have to translate from one to another.

That should be a good paragraph for your paper =)

Because I know for a fact that if I master German + French + English I am pretty safe trekking Europe (though Spanish/Italian would be a nice plus)

Arabic... too difficult, tried it for a week or so @_@b I guess that's who the non-Chinese feel about learning Chinese...

Actually, the US military is training hundreds of people to learn Arabic; but of course that's due to ulterior motives on the government's part....but nonetheless...

    anytime....

I do codeswitches when I don't know a word in the language I'm speaking. Then I go to the closest sounding language and try to fake an accent and see if the other person understands.

Eg, when I'm speaking spanish and don't know how to say a word, I might take an english word and add "a" at the end and hope that it's sounds similar to the Spanish word hahaha....
