The more english I learn, the more chinese I forget. I used to write essays in Chinese, but that was ten years ago.

For most people that know how to read and write Chinese, will say they can read better than write Chinese. Then there is the traditional vs simplified Chinese differences when reading or writing Chinese. I have problem reading and can't write simplified Chinese.

reading chinese is not actaully a problem if you watch tvb. hehehehe.
You tend to learn it by looking at the subtitles.

i tink i can read and write fairly well for chinese but my english is abit ahem... that's because we have to learn chinese (or your mother tongue) under Singapore's education system... but hey its quite an interesting and unique language... though hard to learn initially (some people say its the 2nd hardest language to learn in the world) but it is really beautiful!
...Haha well kinda proud to be a chinese somehow...

Between 2 and 3. I couldn't read a book (probably only understand about 50%), but I can understand a bit more than the basics.

I can write about 200 BASIC charas excluding numbers. lol. That's all. XD Aw, man. I really need to learn how to read and write Chinese. Any help as to the best way to learn? Is learning at uni better or from family members?
