are the words "guys" and "chicks" degrading?

i don't think chicks is degrading. guys is a non-gender term for me.

 

do you girls find calling you "chicks" degrading?

or do you guys think calling you "guys" degrading?

personally, i dont have a problem with it.. perhaps if members could answer these, we could come up with a sample to compare..

well, ladies sound formal and respect when i use it
chicks, gal is more of a slant..

 

I think "chick" is degrading. I don't really know why, it just sounds bad.

I usually don't have a problem with it, but calling "hey guys" to a group of girls can upset me on a bad day. I am easily irritated LOL.

And it has EVERYTHING to do with the context and tone...
