"Today girls dress like boys and young men look like women."discuss i got this for Gp(general paper or english) essay homework and i need some ideas...it's not at all a discussion of transexuals(everything related)... thanks
There are some exceptions but not that many. You see a lot of those in your country? Beside, your topic is a bit vague regarding girls dress like boys.
The only time I have seen Boy dress as Girl is a transsexual ... And that was really scary ... eeewww!!!
Ive seen one also, a guy (dressed and talked like a female) was trying to hit on the sales person saying "oh, im buying this because of YOU" and winking the whole time. It was hilarious to watch the sales person reaction.
But this one was just preparing him, ... ehhh ... herself. At a certain point the push up bra came ...
Back to the topic. Besides Transsexuals, there are no other who do such things in real life. In Japan there is a whacko who dress like a doll and walks around Tokyo ...
I've seen a transexual on the train once and I just looked away. I think dressing is a matter of comfort btw.
I guess the OP was not exactly talking about transvestites (doesn't necessary means the person in question is homosexual, they just dress in clothes for the opposite gender), but rather about the super polished metrosexuals? Because some fashion trends for men are obviously womenly (to a certain extent... relative to modern fashion). The silk scarf thing, the skinny jeans etc, those were first men's fashion (as cravats and well, skinny trousers), then women's fashion picked it up just when men stopped wearing them. After a while, the assimilation goes backwards and the scarf and trousers were re introduced to male fashion.
yeah,i have to write an essay on this but it didn't say discuss, instead,'do you find anything significant in it?' i think that 'girls dress like boys' was that girls wear jean and t-shirt...it's the first thing that came in my mind, not some transvestites
If it's an essay (which I ASSUME to be for sociology and not for fashion studies), the discuss part is implied. The topic, to me, sounds like a study of trend assimilation between the gender gap... but if the OP can elaborate more (on the topic) we may be able to have a more fruitful discussion (instead of talking about transvestites)... =_=b
^ That would mean that female needs to wear skirts or dresses then. Since the society has evolved so much, there would hardly be any female in this era who did not at one point or another wear jeans, pants.... Personally, i think girls wearing "guys" clothes is acceptable. Could you define a little more about guys look like women? In sense that they imitate completely the female gender or only clothing wise?
If you don't mind me asking, what grade is that and what is the theme for this course??? Since we have "themes" for our English classes and it may give hints for the paper... Plus, how long is the paper?
sorry,me too i don't know, the teacher just gave the title, then goodbye you can go home..lol,perhaps by the fact that nowadays, boys take care of their skin buying things..
