Have you ever been in a relationship which is competitive? Guys, do you feel threatened by a girl who is competitive or is doing better than you in her career/social life/family life etc. ? Girls, would you be contented with a partner who is more superior than you or would you wanna challenge that? I always think it's a good idea to be a little competitive (not too much; or it might hurt the relationship ) but using each other as a gauge whether you are doing well in life.. and if your partner is doing way better; then you find ways to improve yourself... What do you think?
I like the way you think babyrain. I am attracted to my wife because she is the only girl who has ever scored higher than I have on an exam when we were studying at university lol. That really turned me on and drew me to her. However like you said, moderation is key. At one point, the competitiveness started putting a strain on our relationship so we had to tone it down a bit. After 11 years, I admit that she is academically more intelligent than I am and I still find that sexy =)
There is this one girl, she says she feel uncomfortable whenever she walks with me because i'm smarter than her...........
@ribsandbbqbeef: It's good to know that some men out there find that attractive. Most just feel threatened ... guess they have a low self-esteem and their ego is too big
Yah, most men are threatened by smart women. The way I see it is, the smarter my woman is, the better she reflects on me as well. It's only if a woman rubs her intelligence in my face that I feel turned off by her.
Speaking of smart women, do you watch House, MD the television show? Dr. Lisa Cutty is so sexy & smart lol.....
Nope i don't... The only American series I am catching on TV now is Desperate Housewives lol.. and Supernatural. P/s: I just noticed sumone with the nick spareribsQ... wouldn't be ur cousin by any chance?
But I am not just talking about intelligence here I am talkin abt every other aspect too.. Like for example; your partner has a hot looking body. Would you drive urself to the gym as well or just be contented to slack off and let ur body show? Or if your partner is very talented at sumthing; would you take lessons as well in tat field to compete? lol.
Ohh, I love desparate housewives. But I only watch it because of Eva Longoria. She's hot! Are women in Malasia like them at all? lol =)
oic. In the dept of looks, I would do everything I can to keep up because the better looking my woman is, the more that men will try to tempt her away from me. And if she works hard to look good for me, I will work harder to look good for her *grins* However, if she's good at a certain skill or talent, I don't usually compete or try to outdo her unless I'm also interested in the topic or use the same skill. I'd rather she has things that she's proud of and feels that she's an expert at; otherwise it gets pretty depressing being with a partner who is better at everything.
lol, Edie is the type of woman guy doctors get in trouble with. Good looking so all the guys go after her, only to find out she's a bitch.... Although I find most women doctors have a little more "bitchiness" than the average woman. I guess that's what it takes to become a doctor lol...
@RaBBQB: It's Cuddy ^_^b Dr. Lisa Cuddy She's one hell of a woman... I am competitive by nature, so I guess guys who are really easily at ease (satisfied) with their work and standing wouldn't be in a relationship with me in the first place...
Oops, my bad, I thought you were referring to Lisa Edelstein ("Edie")... No, Edie is not a doctor in Desparate Housewives haha lol Thanks for the correction...I'll try to remember =) Curious, so what does your significant other do for a living?
